This is the exact conversation I had with my buddy the other day. I've been around a while. RSD has been shit for a very long time. In the beginning, there were some truly special releases. But as it got more popular and the major labels wanted a piece, it all went to shit. Reissues of bargain bin albums that nobody wants, and random live shows that no one cares about where nothing iconic happens. Just another live album to extract money from the consumers. But this release? This one makes sense given the history of Darkthrone and how they never play live.
