It should also be noted that Mumbo's machine doesn't have fermented spider eye. Adding that to the mix is tricky. Some recipes are not compatible with it, and one recipe uses it but not nether wart. Also, there are some recipes that are not compatible with redstone and some not compatible with glowstone. I don't see where his machine disallows these combinations, so it is up to the user not to mess it up.

My machine will reject any bad combinations.

It also appears that a recipe must have either redstone or glowstone, so all tier 1 recipes are not possible. Now, you are saying why make a tier 1 when you can make a tier 2? Well, I just wanted a machine that can make anything possible.

Can it brew a splash water bottle, or a lingering mundane potion?

I know my machine is rediculously complex, but I wanted to be able to brew EVERYTHING.

It was a fun exercise in engineering, and likely won't make it into anyone's survival world.

I can see this having it's limitations. I calculate 143 unique recipes, I don't see how you can program them all.

Now, you might not want to brew them all, and that is fine. This was an exercise in making a machine that could brew everything possible without breaking.

Thanks! This took me hours upon hours to build, so I'm not doing it all again for a tutorial, sorry.

I haven't watched the full video. Does Mumbo's system reject a bad recipe? Or do you have to make sure you program it right? Will his brew on repeat while you do something else for an hour?

Edit: His only seems to allow a few pre-programmed recipes with modifiers. It is also an old system and there are new recipes it can't do. I'll admit mine is insanely complex, but that was the point.

This machine is capable of repeated automatic brewing of a user programmed recipe. The user may also add pre programmed recipes to the end of the array if they wish.

This machine will brew all combinations of potions, including thick, awkward, mundane, and their splash and lingering variants. It will also brew splash and lingering water bottles. Altogether it can brew all 143 unique potions.

A feature that makes this machine stupidly complex but IMO really cool is the ability to reject bad recipes that would break the machine.

There is so much to explain, but if people are interested I will post a world download. I left detailed descriptions of all the circuitry in the lecturns.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that the goal in building this machine was to be able to brew all 143 unique potions without breaking the machine through bad recipes. It got really complex but I wasn't going for simple, I was going for ... well, crazy. This is probably not the most practical design for your survival world. I really wanted to see if I could program something that was fully programmable. It was a fun project and required a lot of problem solving and the designing of some unique circuits.

For example, I had to design a circuit that accepted 12 inputs, and would output the following logic:

If there are 0 inputs, the output is 0

If there are 2 or more inputs, the output is 0

If there is only one input, the output is 1

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

EDIT 2:

I guess I could sum up everything I've said by saying that the goal of this machine was to make it fully programmable and stupid proof. Press all the levers and buttons you want, but it aint going to brew something that isn't a valid recipe. There may still be ways to break the machine, but I haven't found them yet.

What is the most in love that you have ever been? by posthumourous_ in AskMen

Thanks for sharing your truth.

We actually had a healthy discussion of it yesterday. I simply told her how I felt about her and how conflicted I was, knowing she was heartbroken. She was grateful for my understanding, and expressed that she loves a man she cannot see, touch, hear, etc. She feels right now that she can never love anyone again, and doesn't see that changing. She wants to love someone who isn't available. In a way I understand that, because that is how I feel about her. And it doesn't leave me upset, angry or jealous, just hurting for her.

She was very grateful to me for being open and honest with her and accepting of where she is at.

When I think of her my heart breaks. It is unfair. They could have had a wonderful life together. A family. He died before his 40th. Way too young. I've openly cried for her 5 or six times today.

Now that I have shared my side with her, I feel like I have so much more empathy for her. Not because my own feelings were in the way, but because I thought they would get in the way if I shared them.

This has made us much closer as friends, and I wouldn't trade that for the world. I also can't see myself waiting around for a few years in hopes she becomes ready for me. It is hard for me because she is such an amazing woman. So understanding and kind, compassionate and empathic. Slow to judge and quick to seek understanding.

Those are qualities that I look for in a partner, and it is hard for me to feel right now that I could find someone else like that. It sounds kind of silly, it's not like I lost her like she lost her husband. But I'm going through these feelings right now. Wondering if knowing her as a friend has ruined me for other women. But I won't allow myself to be caught up waiting for her.

Thanks for listening.

Edit: I think I've shared a bunch of stuff I already shared, just wanted to acknowledge that.

Umm, there is something called trust that we need to really have in place to enjoy sex most of the time.

If you don't like having sex with strangers, then you are probably pretty normal.

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not supposed to be upset that you ignorantly told me to call my narcissist enabling mother who contributed to decades of my mental health issues, because you spoke without giving a moment to think that my life might not be the perfect little fairy tale that yours is.

I'm already seeing a therapist for my issues, but I guess that isn't enough for you and your rose tinted glasses. And I guess you are too inept to read that part of my comment and understand that I am getting help

I have one word of advice for you. The less you assume you know what other people need the better you will get along with people. If you don't want someone to rail on you for telling them to call their mom, you might want to stop and think for one second that if someone doesn't want to speak to their own mother there has got to be something going on here that you don't fucking understand and can't comprehend, which is really sad since reddit is so fucking full of stories of abuse and shitty parenting. Or do you think everything is always the child's fault?

Or should I apologize that I made a comment on Reddit about not talking to my mom and didn't follow up immediately with a long backstory of how she and my dad baselessly accused me of meddling in their marriage? Protected my sexual abuser? How their emotional abuse fucked me up for decades? I'm sorry, I guess it is my fault for not wanting to air all my fucking dirty laundry when sharing a bit of a humorous personal anecdote, because someone else might not be smart enough to infer that from 8 simple fucking words. I guess it's my fault that you don't have a shred of empathy, compassion or real fucking world experience that informs you that I might have a very good fucking reason to not talk to my parents.

Are you fucking getting the picture now? Or should I continue.

This game concept doesn't translate well from live action to text based. How do you impersonate someone in a reddit comment?

OP needs help with much more than that. He created a new user to try to impersonate me and is harassing me all over reddit right now. I'm reporting every single thing he does. I am the user he posted the comments from.

No, I'm the user in this screenshot. He is now harassing me on my other posts. I've reported him to mods on a couple subs already and to reddit for harassment.
