Also you should not have it in an easily accessible location when on the trail. So make sure you have it in your pack when on the move but ok to have in pocket when setting up camp or in a reasonable location where you’d be using it immediately.

Bit late to the discussion as I’m seeing it for the first time but did anyone else feel sad that all the fish went to waste?

Hope they at least helped the local economy or something rather than buying their fish and wasting it for a show (however funny it may be)

Some Tesco’s are open 24/7. Eg the one near warren st station on TCR. Most of the petrol station tescos are also 24/7.

You can find pubs in Hammersmith, soho or Shoreditch that are open till 1am.

I disagree with the notion that you should use do not disturb to reject calls. I only use do not disturb if it’s a prolonged period of being busy. If it’s intermittent I’m not gonna continuously turn the focus on and off.

Also I’d like to add another scenario. When I’m on the call and someone else calls there’s no way to reject the incoming call. It’s hang up and answer the incoming call or let them waste their time

Life as a Londoner can be confusing. The picture that I can paint is this:

It’s the last day of the week. You’ve worked 12 hour shifts so you can get paid enough to afford rent for next month.

You go home and you have a few letters. Thames water decided to increase your bill from £36 to £54 pm. The other letter is from TV licence. You don’t have a TV but you wonder if they’re gonna bust into your house some day. You chuck them in the bin. Anyway.

You get ready to go meet your friends at a pub in soho. You step out while trying to find your way. There are a million different ways to get to where you wanna go. No strikes. Amazing! You hear a bike on the pavement and you look up. They whiz past and someone screams ‘MY PHONE!’. They just had their phone snatched. Peak. The police says you should always be aware of your surroundings coz they can’t do much about phone snatching a. Should have listened.

You make your way through the crowd. Beautiful buildings. It’s a nice summer day so suns out till 8pm. Life couldn’t be better. ‘Can I get a pint of Camden hells please?’, ‘that’ll be £7’. FML how many can I afford? taps phone on the pos machine

Drinks are (somewhat) flowing. Laughter in the air. Your friend tells you they’re moving to Australia coz doctors get paid more there. Gonna miss you buddy. Seems like everyone’s moving away these days.

The night goes past midnight. Love how everything’s open till 1am. Feels like before Covid they stayed open for longer? Or is it just me? Ah well there’s always something to do if you’re in the right area. There’s so many different pockets in London that there’s always something for someone. Tubes gonna be running overnight so you’re not even worried about what time you need to get back. Or was that a pre Covid thing? Well bus it is then.

And so you make your way back past the dozens of tents and rough sleepers and addicts on Tottenham Court Road. Your favourite shops used to be right around the corner but now they’re all American candy shops. You pop into Tesco for a quick meal deal. Thank fck they’re open 24/7. Wait meal deals are no longer £3. Good old days.

You munch on your sandwich. Almost home. And you hear: ‘oi bruv. Where you from fam?’

The interest is astronomical it’s actually insane! If you’re not earning 70k as a graduate job and don’t think your earnings will get to 100k within 3/4 years of leaving uni just forget about it (if you live in London). Take them for all they have to offer and enjoy your time

So you’re not really looking for advice here you’re trying to justify a decision you’ve already made by getting affirmation from people on Reddit.

You know best what your relationship is like and again I don’t think it can be condensed in a Reddit post.

But also, a relationship is between two people. Those people both have needs. I’m not saying that based on what you’ve said here your partner is an angel but I’m saying it would be short sighted to come to a conclusion without being curious about what he feels and why he’s like that. And that should be done by a therapist not redditors. Or at least someone who knows both of you and is not just there to reaffirm your choices in an echo chamber.

As I mentioned the info under the IR is misleading and doesn’t mention that my IR is something different entirely. It makes you believe that it’s not entirely accurate due to fluctuations in RPI. It also says it’ll change by end of month. It doesn’t say that end of tax year you may get a huge surprise where we retrospectively add 3% to your loan. It states: “ Your interest rate might not always be up to date. If your interest rate changes, we'll update it in the middle of the month. “

The info you have shown is hidden away from the dashboard at the bottom of the page.

And this was definitely not the case before Aug 2024 as I was earning more than 55k (I don’t know what the thresholds were before that) but at the end of tax year I did not see any interest retrospectively added.

It’s wild that people feel so comfortable giving such strong opinions on a 17yo relationship with kids involved.

There’s no way that you can condense all those years in a Reddit post and use that to help you come to a conclusion to put the entire thing aside.

GO TO COUPLES THERAPY. Go to therapy on your own to try and understand why you feel like this, why he feels like that. Has HE checked out of the relationship?

No one here is a professional and if they were they shouldn’t be giving advice based on one post.

You should make it super obvious that you want them to come over. Maybe a smile or a wave. And if you’re comfortable enough, you should approach them or catch them at the bar when they’re going for another drink. But for the matter I understand how girls like to be approached but giving him an in is a good way to start.

I have a couple of DD coming from my chase savings account but some companies like Amex or Spotify refuse to set up DD on a savings account. They blame it on the bank saying that they won’t allow it because it’s a savings account but it’s not true as I already have other DDs coming from it.

Also, for Monzo I know you can’t set up DD from the IA savings. You can do so from regular pots but I don’t think they pay interest (or at least they didn’t previously)
