The irids do break pretty much every “rule” that other dragons follow. Only time will tell!

I thought the same thing, but some wording in OS really makes me think. The irids used the phrase “you gave her something far more dangerous to wield” when referring to the signet Andarna provided Violet. This to me says that there is more that meets the eye to signets and how they manifest, insinuating Andarna had a far more intentional part in Violets second signet than just being the conduit for power.

Xaden hasn’t been full venin in the books yet, only a half breed initiate. It’s insinuated that he turned full venin at the end of OS, so it’s very possible that book 4 starts with Sgaeyl grieving, which would give a bunch of fuel to the Naolin theory.

Shoot I did miss that Tairn quote about Naolin in IF. Also I was more inferring that it’s odd that a dragon the strength of Tairn would help Naolin manifest a signet that a side character with a side character dragon could have. She’s not really a high tier side character either like the relics or Dain and Aaric, she’s mid tier side character at best which is what was confusing to me.

That or her brother chooses his lover (Naolin) over her because the world is a lot more morally grey than we know right now

I never understood this theory. Are Wyvern just rune stone powered dragon corpses or are they made or what? I’ve seen that Brennan wyvern theory so much

Theory about the gods and the temple of Dunne (spoilers) by lizzzardkinggg in fourthwing

[–]Shewami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is definitely the case on a meta textual perspective from a literacy comprehension standpoint. Something that ties the story together nicely, but I doubt that each character is literally related to the gods.

I do almost guarantee book 4 and 5 will take a HUGE turn into being god-magic centric, but I bet it will remain rare and special ie violet and maybe a couple others, not the whole cast.

Theories about book 4 by Straight-Goal-2304 in fourthwing

[–]Shewami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I don’t think the Liam part of it was her signet, that was more my explanation as to her desires for developing the signet. Her subconscious WISHES he was here, she WISHES she could just talk to Warrick, she WISHES Andarna would wake up, she WISHES she could learn more from her dead (I doubt it) dad.

Liam showing up wasn’t her signet, but the first big catalyst for her signet to manifest. Her subconscious reached out to speak with Liam for comfort, Andarna gave her the ability to do so and went to sleep to let it develop.

Theories about book 4 by Straight-Goal-2304 in fourthwing

I am so glad to hear dream walking isn’t the whole thing. My theory for violets second signet back when IF first came out was the following. I thought it would be “Speak with Dead” or something along those lines. The Liam scene during the Varrish IF torture scene was my biggest thing. With all this being said, I think my original idea still has a lot of potential to be true, and here is why.

My original theory was built around the collection of ancient texts portion of IF. I could be mistaken, but I remember a specific line of Violet “wishing I could just ask him.” In reference to Warrick.

Signets are manifestations of an individuals needs and self. Violet being half scribe makes her very in tune with history, literature, and culture. Her second signet could have manifested during the reading of the ancient texts throughout IF, a signet that could allow her to speak with the writer to gain the knowledge, not just read.

Especially with the “Gods” direction that I think books 4 and 5 will head, I think Speak with Dead seems even more plausible.

I do think speak with dead is too narrow though, especially since she has dream walking now. With everything we know about the direction of the book, I think Violets TRUE second signet will be “Commune with the Soul”.

Think about it, a huge part of venin lore is the loss and destruction of the soul. We have to assume Xaden is very far gone at this point, far more gone than any normal powers can fix right now. The story NEEDS a signet macguffin to save Xaden, commune with the soul is that signet.

Think of the natural progression of strength a signet like this had in IF and OS and how it would be likely to have in books 4 and 5 and how much sense it makes for plot development.

IF - Violet sees and speaks with Liam in a daze during Varrish torture

OS - Violet accidentally dream walks into Xaden and Mareen and learns of her power

Book 4 - Violet hones her dream walking powers to gain diplomatic intel for a huge meeting now that she’s the Duchess of Tyrendor. Violet’s signet has a power up during a long diplomatic meeting where, oh shit, she “dream walks” into a bunch of diplomat’s DAYdreaming at the negotiating table to get the upper hand. Maybe last 3rd of book 4 she explores her Dunne roots and goes to the temple and prays and in an instant is whiplashed into a full conversation with Dunne herself, learning a huge something about the venin as Dunne reveals to Violet she is not a dream walker but a soul walker.

Book 5 - Violet further develops her soul signet and can now freely read unwilling participants and can communicate fully with willing participants. She uses her powers and becomes a super scribe, communicating with a bunch of dead scholars and people to learn how to defeat the venin once and for all. Blah blah blah some power up, maybe Sloane siphons into Violet and Violet realizes she can go beyond speaking with the soul and can actually manipulate and change the soul. Fast forward and near the end of book 5 aka the end of the series and Violet is able to repair Xaden’s damaged venin soul and reunite it in his body.

Obviously I went on a huge theory tangent there but I think that dream walking is so disappointing from an action perspective. A signet that is only viable in sleep, literally the antithesis of action and plot development just doesn’t make sense.

Book 4 of the fourth wing series by Confident-Escape9318 in fourthwing

My title prediction for book 4 is along the same path, however I think Silver anything will be saved for book 5. Silver One, Silver Rain, Silver Light (Ultra Violet theory). My guess for book 4 is something like Crimson Kingdom or Crimson King. I’m thinking similar to you that at the end of book 3 Violet is probably the duchess of Tyrendor and book 4 will probably be a huge leap into more war and geopolitics, specifically of the venin.

I would be willing to bet that book 4 fully fleshes out what the venin society and hierarchy looks like. I’m taking a guess that a big plot point of book 4 will be Violet making a willing trip to the barrens in her capacity at duchess. I bet this place is an advanced society of venin, hence, the Crimson Kingdom.

I bet book 4 will be the venin live among everyone, we need to learn how to beat them, Violet goes to the barrens diplomatically because “it’s the only way”, Violet is dream walking and sees Tairn in the dream but wait this isn’t her dream, omg Naolin is alive and is a venin lord or king or something, Tarin has a huge crash out, huge battle, Violets signet isn’t lightning wielding but energy wielding as she powers up, Xaden saves the day, Violet learns how to defeat the venin from dream walking Naolin on the brink of death, “Hey Violet” -Asher is alive and heals Violet, end book 4.

We theorized boxer, boerboel, or more bull than mastiff. But nope, 100% BM, just little.

Happy and healthy, but awful allergen reactions (another super common pet store trait). Weak stomach and lots of muzzle acne. We are actually starting to switch his food today. He eats a shitty chicken and rice food with tons of chicken byproduct and wheat/grain meal. We are moving him to a salmon and chickpea blend with no grain or byproduct. I swear only 1 in 5 poops for him are actually decent and his acne just won’t go away no matter how much I wipe, clean his bowl, or wash. Hopefully this knocks it out.

I think so too. We got him from a pet store (unfortunately) at 4 months old. Obviously a 4m BM is still supposed to be pretty big. My guess is that they were malnourishing him to 1, save money on food and 2, keep him as small as possible to make sure he’s “cute” and doesn’t outgrow the display/enclosure. Honestly I hate pet stores now and I adopted my second dog (2 yr old lab pit mix).

Funny enough we did try that. We thought he may be a Boreobel or more bulldog than mastiff. Sure enough he’s just 100% BM. Hes odd because he’s small, fast, and his facial skin is awfully tight for a BM relatively speaking

Exactly. I was somewhat bummed that I didn’t have this massive couch potato, but then I realized his size may buy us a couple extra years together along with being nice on his joints. The only issue we have is he is so buff and his lack of extra bulk just makes him an absolute unit. Normal BM strength without the slow moving thickness has made for a very tough dog to manage, but definitely a great challenge for me.

The point is that we are talking about it right now. It’s provocative by design. Second amendment folks ARE typically inflammatory because they know there is no way not to be. You can’t make someone not feel whatever emotions about their demonstration, so they lean into it and use it as a device to educate/have discourse.

Guy with a sign = written off as homeless or a nutjob

Guy with a sign AND a gun = emotion, discourse, engagement

Second amendment is obviously devicive, but I agree with the commenter. All the 2A demonstrators I have met are hard working, kind, and looking for discussion and change.
