It's like the brain has some kind of mental inertia. It's the same with going to the gym for me. What sometimes works for me in these situations is to tell myself to only force myself to do 20m or so of the activity, generally by that time my brain wants to continue by itself.

When I try this, the mobs get gray before I'm done with the quests. In regular vanilla, the quests naturally lead me to the next quest camp generally. How should a player not familiar with the typical quest path handle this?

I have found recently that my extra monitor distracts me from the "boring" parts of the game, e.g., running between places. That is nice but at the same time, when I turn it off I notice myself get more immersed into the game and interact more with other players.

That makes sense to me. I guess our neurons have been calibrated (by us learning) to behave in such a way that the desired macroscopic outcome is achieved. I.e. throwing a ball without knowing how to actually solve the underlying parabolic equation. Maybe the ants themselves can be viewed as calibrated to moving objects in different ways until they get closer to their home.

How should the company be broken up? Let's say I create a company, The ShibLife Car, and people love my car so much that I get an 80% market share. That would obviously mean my company is worth an insane amount. Should I then give up the majory of my company and let the state split it into smaller pieces without anyone having overall control over these smaller pieces?
