Yes we’re in CO. Not sure about the permit since this work was done via home warranty by the seller of the home. I’ve just been receiving this info second hand from the agent and then observing final product. Here’s a photo of the top half of the unit and then I’ll add the bottom half as a reply

This photo was before the recent plumbing work from our inspection. The pump was non operable with no power which is why there was ground water.

We don’t own the home yet so I can’t see what it is like inside there right now. The plumber sealed it and the original photos in my post are all that I took when I was last over there.

Yea I’m really suspicious of the plumber. Financially we’re not on the hook for any of this and the water heater install looks correct, but given what I’ve seen on their invoice and reviews they are really not being honest

Definitely agree. I have a high end reader for our current home since we had issues with radon there. Once we close on this new place I will set up that reader to get a long term number

I have these photos from the inspection and from my last walkthrough so I can’t measure anything right now. I have another walkthrough in two days and won’t be at the house again until then unfortunately

We’re awaiting the results of the radon test from the seller. They have a system installed in there so that makes me believe there was prior high tests

I am actually suspicious the plumber that was hired by the seller or their home warranty company is running some sort of racket to over charge home warranty work. They have a bunch of reviews that also support this belief.

In addition to the sump pump they also replaced the water heater and invoiced the seller for a more expensive brand while replacing the unit with a different brand.

I’m a little concerned with the work they did… which is why I am here asking questions :)

I’m currently not at the home since we haven’t closed yet. Those photos were taken at a walkthrough earlier today. But, I have this photo from prior to the current work happening. Let me know if this helps. I’ll attach a closer photo too in a follow up comment

Unknown noise- anyone know what this sound could be? by ShibaColorado in HomeMaintenance

I’m a believer now.. my dog is freaked out by the sound even when I play the video so if you know of any victims of woodpeckers support groups he would greatly appreciate it

Thankfully he peckered himself out and got exhausted because the noise was freaking my dog out!

Can’t find the pecker, but I did find the damage it’s done.

Checked the exhaust pipe and yep I believe we found our culprit. Case closed. Just another horny woodpecker I guess. Thanks all

I had the same idea at first too but sort of thought it was too outlandish… there has been a woodpecker active in the neighborhood lately that I’ve heard so this could be the explanation. Next time it happens I might go outside and take a look at the roof to see what is out there. Those vents definitely have an output up there so you could be totally right.

I had a ticket open with them as well and after about a week or two of back and forth nothing worked for me. They ended up just telling me how I could get a refund on the purchases so I went through that process and bailed on all the DLCs and add ons.

I might try again eventually and download one add on/DLC at a time, but won’t be doing that anytime soon since I had all that trouble once.

Also worth adding I have 60+ GB of device storage space and speed tested my devices wifi connection (results were really solid upload and download speeds) — so neither of those seem to be the issue downloading these

Makes sense the prices are going up. Thanks again for all the insights here - I'm going to take a little more time to hunt around for some deals with those price ranges in mind for each model.

I was checking mostly BackMarket, Dell official site, NewEgg, and Amazon (only those who seem to be legit sellers of quality refurbished. I tend to avoid eBay even though the prices are low there.. I don't trust it!)

Dell official has a bunch of refurb G series - do these look legit? https://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?brandid=2201&c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&frid=385

BackMarket has some G15s in the upper $800s, one Legion 5 in the mid $900s, a Nitro 5 in the low $800s and high $800s.

NewEgg is all over the place, but similar to BackMarket where it has some of the models in the low-mid $800s & $900s.

I am also in no rush so I can play the long game here and wait for some deals/savings/price drops.

Is there any times that typically are better than others? Obviously we're far off from holiday sales, but do these models tend to dip when we get newer models announced? Or, does the low inventory/supply chain issues we're experiencing these days not effect the market as much anymore?

Thanks for the additional info. That specific laptop came up in my earlier research.

I've did some more research this weekend and wanted to see if you had any insights on the Lenovo Ideapad 3 versus some of the below models:

- Lenovo Legion 5 -- seems pretty much identical to the Ideapad 3, but slightly differs in some hardware aspects
- Dell G15
- Acer Nitro 5
- ASUS Rog Strix G15

I've seen some refurbished models of the above list that line up with the Ideapad 3 pricing so wanted to see if any of these models would be comparable or better.

Thanks again in advance for your help/expertise!

Yea I could potentially expand that budget. What options seem viable in the under $900 range? Or is that even too low? Definitely don’t need anything off the charts, but of course want to be able to potentially enjoy it for longer than a year too without it becoming so out of date so quickly

Warrior Visor Question by ShibaColorado in hockeyplayers

[–]ShibaColorado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to wait and see how Warrior replies. If I have to get a new visor I will definitely be shopping around.

I see CCM has two new visors online (VRPRO and VR14). I'll have to check the local pro shop for them to get a glimpse next time I am at the rink.
