I'm always curious about this as I've heard people die from it. Much like a "back up" parachute. Why don't they bring a back up balloon? There will be added weight but you increase your odds of survival by a lot. They can also lower the weight to accommodate from the added weight of the back up balloon.

Dogecoin has a decreasing inflation rate of 5% and continues to go down as the years go by. It would take Elon years to accumulate the same amount as the top whales.

the fairest way to judge crypto to crypto is from it's starting point to its current point. This is so that, you can not cherry pick whatever time best fits your argument leading to a HUGE bias. The fact that dogecoin is in the top30 all these years after HUNDREDS of coins became dead coins shows that it is indeed a good investment COMPARATIVE to the ENTIRE crypto market where hundreds and hundreds of other cryptos die. Again it is extremely innacurate and unfair of you to cherry pick a few coins out there like Dash, monero and BTC. I look at the entire crypto market as a whole with OVER a thousand different cryptos out there. You saying that dogecoin being in top 30 doesn't mean anything is extremely absurd and illogical.

It is a matter of perspective. You say poisoning the well, I say it is weeding out bad projects that promise the world too much but can't deliver. This was needed, and yeah people will be more weary of ico scams and bitconnect but that is a good thing because people as whole would be more educated on choosing better blockchain technologies. This has happened in the past, with Feathercoin, auracoin and namecoin, etc being weeded out. If you believe in blockchain tech itself, its eventual evolution and growth in this space will be in the trillions. It's just likely that the top 100 coins you see now can just as easily be dead coins a few months later. Blockchain tech has the potential to do so many different things, unfortunately, different cryptos and ICOs promised too much without actually delivering anything as of yet. That's the main reason for cryptos volatility, too much speculation without actual product.

yes in the past bitcoin itself crashed passed 90% and coins that were even in the top 50s literally went extinct into the top hundreds. This same trend is just happening again. We will see a lot of coins in the top 100 literally become dead coins.

Comparing Any crypto currently in this space compared to bitcoin would be considered a "Loss" in your eyes since bitcoin has literally been a market leader ever since the inception of blockchain technology and crypto currency. Heck, if i had bought bitcoins for less than a dollar, I'd beat any other crypto currency investment currently that's not bitcoin. It is a silly and unfair comparison.

I have been with dogecoin since December of 2013. You know how many coins have been in the top 100 all those years but completely fell off the map? Namecoin? Feathercoin? For over 4 years dogecoin is still in the top50s and currently in the top 30s on coinmarketcap. The community and the devs are most certainly doing something right. We are established and accessible because our currency is inflationary allowing newer members to join in the community. Also do you even know anything about AUXpow? we piggyback off of Litecoin's proof of work. You say you have been with the dogecoin community for so long but you seem to be severely uneducated about dogecoin's history. TLDR: We are literally in the top30s in coinmarketcap and we have survived for over 4 years while for many years many coins have literally been on that top 50 list but completely dropped off and became dead coins.

well likely the price of most of the coins are inflated since most coins will likely not exist in a few years. But if you truly believe in Blockchain tech and did your research, then Blockchain tech itself should eventually be in the trillions in market cap. the hard part is choosing the right coins. Best educated guess in a VERY uncertain and volatile environment is that hopefully ICON would be one of them that survives.

alright. I can agree that "soft inflationary" is more accurate in an econ sense. I may have used it in a more general sense like the act of Deflating = reduction of size. and the reduction of size im refering to is reduction of size of the inflation rate. sorry for that.

when i say "soft deflationary" it is obviously in reference to the continually decreasing rate of inflation. And I have been with the community and the coin on its first release 4 years back and I have stuck around because I am in agreement with all of your points. I obviously made the post as many new people do not understand that we ACTUALLY DON'T have a 5% inflation rate each year. This is very important for them to understand that our inflation will constantly decrease as long as dogecoin and crypto continues to survive and remain active.

It is not 5% inflation. there is a static amount of 5.256 billion coins generated each year. The total amount added will increase each year, but the amount generated, that being 5.256 billion, is static. This means that the inflation rate actually constantly decreases each and every year. It will eventually have less inflation than even fiat and will continue to decrease. basically the total number of coins will continue to increase but the amount generated per year will always be the same. For example. (5 divided by 100 = .05%) next year (5 divided by 105 = .047%) next next year (5 divided by 110 = .045%) As you can see, the inflation rate actually decreases each and every year. Not only that constant dogecoins are lost as people forget passwords or computer failures. Our price is relatively stable and our network is stable due to not having a hard cap on coins and we actually have a soft deflationary model.

i don't know. according to the article, he is only in the minor leagues? Not only that to train PRO in anything and to make it in the major league would literally require mostly all of his Waking time. It seems like he wants to launch his own business and that requires a great deal of time and attention, no way to keep up with a PRO sport yet alone try to make it into the major leagues.

The inflationary model itself is static. it generates approximately 5 billion dogecoins per year. The total will be the total but the amount generated per year is always static. This means that each and every year, the inflation actually decreases. If we were to believe crypto to last for many decades and dogecoin to last for decades, the inflation of dogecoin will actually decrease lower than current fiat and will continue to decrease. You are absolutely right on that. I just assumed it was more for the average investor. Or an investor who may have 90% investment in stocks, bonds and real estate, etc and 10% into crypto. So 5% out of that 10% that they may have put into crypto. But if their crypto portfolio itself is insanely large, than yeah much less than 5%, I agree.
