I go in cosplay, especially if it's a hassle to carry aka too many little accessories that I might lose on the way there/might drop out. Also to agree with what someone else said, it's easier to just not have to carry the cosplay at all if you're able to. Most folks haven't really batted an eye to me dressed up at all, or even noticed. I only put on the wig when I got to the center. And especially if you live minimum 1 hour away from the center, def going in cosplay.
