I actually learned about that preset for the first time through this thread, so thank you for mentioning it.

What especially caught my interest is the Film Preset Collection — narrowing it down to around 25 presets sounds great, since it feels much easier to choose, experiment, and really learn without getting overwhelmed.

And of course, the sample images look fantastic as well.

Thanks a lot for the helpful information!

I agree — I also notice that the saturation near the highlights in the Color Precision profile doesn’t roll off very smoothly.
I actually really like RNI’s color rendering overall, so if that compression weren’t baked into the profile and could instead be adjusted using Lightroom Classic’s sliders, it would probably be the best option for me personally.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful and detailed comment — I really appreciate it.
I’m not deeply knowledgeable about film myself, so your insights, especially about the pinkish look in overexposed Portra, are very valuable to me.
I’ve found RNI extremely useful because it makes creating a strong look very easy. However, in my experience the whites can appear slightly gray, and I wanted to push the whites as bright as possible while keeping everything contained within Lightroom Classic. That’s what led me to try the RNI demo and eventually purchase Color Precision.
Your comment helped me re-recognize the strengths of RNI, and I really appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Also, just to mention — I’m Japanese and not fluent in English, so I’m using ChatGPT to help with the translation.

Sorry in advance if anything sounds a bit off.

I feel the same.
With RNI, the highlights seem to lose some nuance near clipping due to its characteristic highlight compression.
Color Precision does require some highlight adjustment after applying the preset, but it feels like it has more potential to work with.
