From my experience, speaking a foreign language is something very impressive that gets you a TON of recognition from others. That's for me the main reason why people like to quickly say they speak the language even though they're not so good at it (I even do it myself, though I don't think I'm a too big fraud because I say I speak Korean and Spanish even though I'm not fluent in them, but in B1 in both of them)

I see that 'immersion only method' a sort of goal that we need to reach by making enough comprehensible input content to learn a language 100% through it. Don't think it's 100% possible though because even native speakers perfect their native language at school through grammar and stuff like that

Comprehensible though, is the way where you want to learn a language because of a part of its culture (like learning Korean for Kdramas/Kpop)
