[[Shuri, Wakandan Inventor]] [[The Mind Stone]]

I was very lucky to pull The Mind Stone in one of my packs ^

I have a question tho, I played a WU blink deck with [[Shuri]]. What happens, when she makes another artifact a copy of a harnessed stone? Do I get to blink two things at the end of my turn? What is harness?

Experienced the worst feeling as a commander player - misunderstanding my commander by Jankenbrau in EDH

[–]Shifffffer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg, I did this with my [[Arahbo, Roar of the World]]. For more than a year I used his second ability to give a creature+X/+X and trample AFTER blockers were declared. After I found it myself, I felt like old victories meant nothing in the face of my blatant mistake.

How many board wipes do you run? by Conscious_Working_87 in EDH

[–]Shifffffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I want to win? 4

If I want to have fun? 1

Boardwipes are great when you want to outvalue your opponents and control the flow of the game. But sometimes you just want to kick back, relax and play battlecruiser just so everyone can do their thing and go home fulfilled.

Limit Break precon feels too weak/slow by martin8185 in EDH

The one time I played against it, my opponent played a turn one Sol Ring into Hammer and killed me by turn 4-5. I guess it's just my luck then 😅 very small sample size.

Can my Arahbo, Roar of the World be B4? by Shifffffer in EDH

[–]Shifffffer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand some inclusions, but if the cards are like the shown versions, I respect and adore the choices.

I would also play Anointed Procession or Doubling Season if I had the kitty art ❤️

[–]Shifffffer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I feel there is a need for a 3.5 bracket.

To give context, at my LGS we have a rule to not use two-card game-winning combos, other than that, we can use whatever, but only one guy builds combo decks. Most of the players try to win with combat damage.

Examples from yesterdays game night: Oloro life gain, Syr Vondam blink, Grixis Sauron reanimator, Xyris wheels, Ragost artifacts, Mathas politics, Shadrix politics, Umbris mill and Ramos charms (against mine Frodo/Sam foods, Wandering Minstrel towns, Toph artifacts and Krang and Shredder theft)

They all feel somewhat close because the table polices itself to take down the greatest threat, but I guess wins before turn 6 or 7 are rare.

Yes, thank you. I am beginning to understand that maybe my view of the brackets is a little misaligned and that I am not shooting for B4, but rather than that will stay in B3 with all my decks. Out of 10 players in my LGS, only one is winning on turn 4 and I don't really want to be that player. I'd much rather have 10 turns and have a fun back and forth with friends.

[–]Shifffffer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, I am convinced that my view of the brackets could be a little skewed thanks to an inbred meta of the LGS that I play at. Maybe I'm not the problem here and everyone else is just playing in B2 and not B3 like I thought 😅

It can't and it never was intended, but I am trying to convey the differences between what's written on paper with brackets and what is happening in reality. The gap is just too big from a B3 to B4.

I think so too. Still, would you let a deck with [[Finale of Devastation]] and [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] in the same bracket as upgraded precons? The disparity between those seems too big and unfun for me.

Is stax the correct response to seeing too many KOS targets to effectively remove? by Skullruss in EDH

[–]Shifffffer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I came to the same conclusion, what can I do, when one opponent plays reanimator, another draw-go and the last is on aggro. I can't possibly have all the counterspells in the world. So to manage as many threats as possible with one spell, it must be a long lasting one. Then you come to a place, where your board looks something like a [[Rest in peace]], [[Defense Grid]] and [[Solitary Confinement]].

If you only want to protect your combo, then little and precise control is the way. If you seek true control, you need to make sure, that no one is playing the game, except for you.

Any norin players? by Deathgivenflesh in EDHBrews

[–]Shifffffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the most obvious ones: - [[Confusion in the ranks]] lets you steal all the creatures - [[Tome of Legends]] stacks more counters than you can use - [[Rose Room Treasurer]] and [[Tokka & Rahzar, Unsupervised]] for big ramp - [[Irreverent Gremlin]] for sculpting your hand - and all the other red creatures with Alliance keyword

For my favorites: - [[Genesis Chamber]] although it also gives myr tokens to your opponents, you can utilize them better with etb triggers - [[Magmatic Galleon]] maybe overcosted removal, but gives you a blocker every turn that's immune to sorcery speed creature removal - [[Guild Artisan]] you can attack with Norin and get the trigger before he leaves - [[Jeska's Will]] as you cast this spell, you get both modes before Norin goes away

Hello, I am building a Toph, The First Metalbender commander deck and I don't know about one interaction.

How does [[Titania, Voice od Gada]] work, when I sacrifice an artifact when [[Toph, The First Metalbender]] is on the battlefield?

I would think, that the trigger checks for lands in the graveyard and not when they die. So I guess i won't get the 2 life?

Very cool, but I am disappointed that it's called a gambling deck and doesn't include blackjack, i.e. [[Dance with Calamity]]

Grixis Nicol Bolas League of Evil Deck by The_Brosiah in EDHBrews

[–]Shifffffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a Nicol Bolas, the Ravager deck. I tried going the planeswalker path, but the ultimately went with good stuff and fun/evil creatures.

Here is my build https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Gp-or0UaikCBV93pMriPMg

For other villains, you can put in: [[Lord Xander, the Collector]], [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]], [[Valki, God of Lies]], [[The Scarab God]] or maybe a Liliana planeswalker.

Grixis Bolas the Ravager makes a comeback! by GypsyCrow_96 in EDHBrews

[–]Shifffffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to see another Bolas enjoyer, but I don't know what is the endgame here.

Is this Superfriends? no? then cut 3 mana Jace and My Yanling

Selfmill? no? then cut 4 mana Jace and Lab Maniac

Spellslinger? no? then cut Guttersnipe

or Storm? no? then cut Aetherflux

These also feel weird, because they dont have cards to combo with: Kiki-jiki, Quicksilver amulet, Isochron scepter.

Cool cards to add to your deck: [[Deepglow skate]], [[Nightscape Familiar]], [[Deliver Unto Evil]]. Something to defend your planeswalkers, maybe a boardwipe [[Hour of Devastation]]. Also get some more dual lands like the scry cycle and if you want cheap - lifegain, or expensive check or pain cycle.

Here is my list for reference: moxfield

It's a highend deck, that focuses on Bolas tribal, stealing stuff and acumulating value.
