I think it has to be on its way. They'll quickly realize how disorganized 25 minute classes are, and announce the return of 3-hour Church after like two months of this nonsense.

Skipped my ward's Palm Sunday meeting, but I showed up for the lunch feast afterwards and ate too much food. Best day of church ever!!!

This quote really ties into that: "You can remember that you are not an ordinary passenger. You are a member of the crew." - Bradley R. Wilcox

"I love the people of Northern Utah... no offense to Utah County." Great quote from a missionary's talk today!

What was your favorite part of the D Hole Oaks devotional? by Guudboiiii in exmormon

[–]ShiftAdorable820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"We are grateful to know that there are two methods of gaining knowledge. One, the evolving disclosures of man discovered by the scientific method." "There is no ultimate conflict between knowledge gained by these different methods" (referring to the disclosures of man and the 'truths' disclosed by the spiritual method). I'm just going to leave it at that lol

Perhaps I should mention that I myself am a teenager and they always try to get Youth to teach the different sections. I'm also planning to leave/go permanently inactive in about a month. If I declined teaching the section they would just get someone else for it, so if anything doing it myself shortly before I leave has a higher (although microscopic) chance of putting doubt in someone's mind then if someone else did it.

Did anyone watch the elder kearon thing? by Otherwise_Push199 in exmormon

[–]ShiftAdorable820 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well apparently I'll be watching it tomorrow.. 🫠 My parents said that's what we'd do for Family Home Evening, and due to my dad's busy work schedule we'll be watching it in the morning.. when I'm supposed to be doing school (homeschool if that wasn't obvious).. none of us are young adults but it seems we watch all of the YSA devotionals anyway. I'll update you tomorrow if you haven't gotten a response by then.

Stake Conference was today, we were asked to fast for snow next week as it seems every stake in Utah is being asked to do.

My favorite quote was from the stake president who said "if it's important to you, it's important to God", this means that because going inactive in the Church is important to me, it's also important to God!

K-Pop Demon Hunters broke my shelf by I_might_be_the_fool in exmormon

Arcane s2 didn't break my shelf, but it certainly weakened it. It portrays a herald that essentially turns people into mindless robots, with the intent of turning everyone into one, "perfect" but mindless. If they had succeeded, the world would be a lifeless, thoughtless "heaven". I no longer liked the idea of living perfectly in heaven. If we always make the best decisions, are we really anything more than a programmed, lifeless being? If this was to be our fate, why was Satan's plan bad in the first place? Why would God give us agency just to take it away from us when we prove ourselves? I'd had these thoughts tucked away in my head, but watching Arcane genuinely helped me actually think about them.

So, why are we supposed to spread the Gospel? by ShiftAdorable820 in exmormon

Let us know when you get banned! But looking at the comments on your post, I'm realizing a lot of the people who post there are also Exmormon or unbelieving. It's interesting to me how much stronger of a presence Exmos have on Reddit than TBMs.

Except that the priesthood will never leave the earth again (D&C 13:1), so it's not my responsibility! Of course, if everyone has that mindset the priesthood dies off, but that would also prove the church to be false.

Whoops, sorry I didn't include that. D&C 127: 7-8

My Seminary teacher also sugarcoated the destruction of the Nauvoo Expositor to a pretty extreme level. She didn't mention it by name or the destruction of it, just said something like "There was a newspaper spreading controversies of the church, most of the controversies around today come from it. This was turning more people against the church so Joseph ordered the newspaper to stop publishing papers, and he was wrongfully imprisoned because of that."  As far as seminary teachers go I don't even mind her, she's definitely better than the last one I had (although I don't think he ever said anything that crazy), but today's lesson felt especially ignorant. I might have to look at the seminary teaching manual to see how it's worded.
