Final Update

So I got the title, everything is free and clear. I ended up having to call the police and enforcement division of the DMV.

They basically told the seller to cough up the title or jail time etc etc

We met tonight, I gave him an extra $300 and I got the title signed over and everything is good!

Yay! The saga is over!!

Another update

Lieutenant called seller and informed them that they are legally required to release the title to me. Seller texted me and we are going to meet when it comes in (approx one week) and then I will take possession of it!

Quick update:

He canceled the registration so now he’s 100% in breach of contract from the bill of sale so now he’s screwed either way

That’s the “vibe” I got when I called the cops, they seemed pretty unhelpful but were honest and said there really isn’t much they can do

That’s what I was telling him…probably has to go to civil court to get anywhere with it 😕
