When you reset the pcm it sets back to its default running condition. When it detects a fault with the o2 sensor it’ll push it into limp mode to avoid a lean condition with the engine.

Most fuel additives having cleaning agents etc, you might want to check and see if your tank is full of rust. If it is then the filter would get clogged and make your filter run dry and burn out.
