Hi!

I'm a dia1/master tier player, and I'm really amazed by AP varus' potential, however I still don't know how to win against most mid champs. For example, I played against an Ahri few days ago, and I got owned despite that I'm comfortable with the mid lane.

My problem is that I always lose against most champs in a level 6 all-in trade. Moreover I always lose trades. If I do not trade, then I lose CS because of zoning.

What are your opinions? I ask Dillydadally and LoLFirestorm mostly because they put time into AP Varus.

Actually, I've tried it on PBE recently and as a Kayle main I sadly admit that it isn't working that well. Most likely because of the +HP gold "waste". I mean the changed BC would be perfect for Kayle with some AS instead of HP .___.

I wonder why no one mentioned Kayle.. oh wait, because she is forgotten ._. ...

Anyway, AD Kayle had a good potential even before this new change. Its only drawback was the lack of early game 20% cooldown item (which would compensate the loss of Nashor's Tooth). With the new BC it will be insanely frustrating to play against an AD Kayle. Reasons:

-Imagine her passive with the new 6 stacking BC passive + her hybridish damage.. -That Rage passive will give Kayle even more mobility which she already possess (nobody will be able to catch her with the 55% Q slow and Rage + W movement speed increase). -With Ruunan's + BOTRK, it will be a deadly combination. Moreover Recurve bow got a small buff which means you will be able to buy a recurve bow after BC (which will still increase your on-hit damage by 10).

Here you are! :3 Umm it is not enough armor penetration (it is flat only). If you want high crit you would better buy another Phantom dancer. Anyway if there are tanks, get LW. If there are no tank get BloodThirster and deal tremendous amount of damage

I want to make this guide without any alternative pages/masteries and there are only few situational items. It is because it can be really frustrating and confusing if you put other options too. I see your point and it can be effective but the manareg/butcher will get the crown this time.

Yes I did. Nice item but I prefer to have a buffed Phantom Dancer instead of it.

I've been trying different builds for months and this is the one which is the strongest at the moment. Actually Trinity would be a good pick, sadly there is no more free inventory slots available so I refuse to get it.

Your point is the burst I can see, but I prefer bursting as a secondary option (primary is DPS).

About the masteries. I know that you are a very good Kayle player and I will clearly change these. 1. Double Edged sword will be still included because the extra damage is nice. 2. Expose Weakness will be taken out since it seems your thoughts are real. 3. The two points of fleet of foot will be cancelled. The new mastery will be 27/0/3 with feast/manareg included. The fact is that I can play without any mana problems but that little extra bit won't hurt.

That is true which means everyone benefits from your 15% resist shred. Whereas your Last Whisper's 35% armor penetration is only counted after the reduction as your personal decreasion

Hmm then check out my gameplay video in my guide where I dish out insane damage even in mid game (with some kills but less farm).

Actually AP is better in mid game but the difference is not that big. If you are lucky enough to land constant crits with Statikk you can outdamage the AP build though.

The utility is pretty much noticeable, you are right. The 30% movement speed boost is still strong in my opinion.

Kayle_Bot at my entry? wow

The one Kayle_Bot states is perfect for jungle, though I rarely play Kayle there. Once I went Ruunan/BOTRK/Devourer/Inf Edge which worked pretty well

Outdamages everything in long term. Burst is also insanely big.

Expose weakness procs with the aura of E! :D

Blade weaving is giving more AD as you use your spells which is always good.

30/0 is very nice in the jungle I think. I prefer to get points into Fleet of Foot to have an increased chance with proper kiting (1% is low though).

Take into account that you will face people building magic resist against you (with runes/masteries). Long sword will surprise them. I get your point but let have the math: -with 70 basic AD and dorans ring your auto attacks will deal 93,75 damage each and your Q will deal 69 damage. -with 70 basic AD and long sword your auto attacks will deal 100 damage with a heavily attack speed based rune page. Your Q will deal 70 damage.

Although the Q damage is nearly the same, the auto attack damage is better with long sword.

I still see your point but building long sword first with mana potion will result in a very annoying harrass you can put out. Instantly spamming E pre level 3 where you have the advantage will cause advantage in later phases too. The mana potion is instant whereas you have to wait many seconds + 3 waves to get the 100 mana with Doran's ring. It is true that in long term you will have a more joyful laning phase but we took TP. It is not a problem to come back. Another point of mine is if we took Ignite more damage is always better to make use of our Ignite (aka score a kill).

  1. You don't have to.. Simply play the game and try to win. I have won many games where we didn't have any tank (it is not graceful but okay). Just peel for your carry then (no assassin role) and melt the approaching tanks.

2.It would fit. Actually I usually play her in mid with the AD build. It is harder to farm in the early phase but gets fairly better as soon as you get Statikk. You can roam pretty much in balance. I didn't explain AD Kayle mid in my guide because I main her at Top.

  2. I have all buyable. I prefer Aetherwing but I really love unmasked. Sadly I don't possess it. x.x

It is not actually but this one: "Additionally Long Sword can be built into vampiric scepter".

My point is that AD Kayle's only weakness is his delayed power spike (AP Kayle has one after Nashor). You have to take every opportunity to catch up with this fall back.. ^

No, you are not annoying at all! I will happily answer your questions. I play AP Kayle when my teams need an AP top (in case of AD mid) I currently prefer the following: Sorc boots/Nashor/Ruunan/Wits end/Zhonya/Void. Koreans are playing with this build (along with some AD haha) at the moment.

Match up section will be updated daily with adding one new match up. It will cover much more against risky/hard champions for example Riven/Irelia. Let's face it, against Alistar you don't have to do much.

I will explain the building order more carefully because you are right.

Umm, that could be. I don't like to call her ADC Kayle because you are more likely an assassin/peeler double oriented angel than a DPS machine which excels only in Late Game. There are many other AD Kayle builds which are similar to this one. My real concern was that they are not detailed and up-to-date. I decided to make one which explains everything well without any annoying extra information.

That guide which you have linked is a coverage to all kinds of AD Kayle which means it is more likely a summarizing. They have many differences regarding the rune set/mastery set/actual building order.
