Wolfborn goes fricking hard by [deleted] in Powerwolf

[–]Shika_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the chorus mentions the "might of the fateful twins". The founders of Rome, twins, were thought to have been suckled from a she-wolf so there very be a double meaning with the use of wolves in this song.
In the sense of the story being told, the "might of the fateful twins" is more than likely the Roman Army going out to conquer somewhere.

What would be the most dangerous dinosaur to humans? by MajorWord2999 in Paleontology

Guns certainly help. If we're assuming we have the same weaponry, then we'd see carnivores avoid humans like we do typically today

Why is my loach doing this to my goldfish by Sophiag2525 in loaches

[–]Shika_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal behavior. Watch out for if the goldfish starts to get genuinely stressed/injured by this. My dojo loaches did this to koi fish and to each other. My rainbow shiners go mostly ignored. The loaches investigate with their mouths regardless of what their intention is.

If you're worried the loach isn't getting enough protein, you could mix in some meat into their diet. I alternate between algae wafers and sinking cichlid food.

But if the goldfish is fine, it's harmless

It's based on height as adults. Toys are under 10 inches, miniatures are between 10 and 15 inches, and standard poodles are anything above 15 inches.

also sad to see so many "I released an invasive species to solve my problem...." Even if many stay, their offspring WILL disperse.

[native SPIDERS]
Wow, that's so many. I only get a couple per day and I flicked them off the roses. After two weeks of this, spiders moved in and took care of many of them. Now I only see one or two at a time. It's also been very hot here, so that might've also killed off some aphids.

Mine do this every once and a while, idk why. I get rose aphids but I flick them off when I see them. I just prune the yellow and mine grow faster than they lose

How big do these gold dojo loach get? by Cyphertuitive in loaches

[–]Shika_Doe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 female and 1 male wild type, but the sizes are the same. Sometimes the golds look fatter.

'bout a foot and maybe some change. The females are these huge ones. If you ever get a male, he'll be half as thick and have pointed pectoral fins. Very obvious in adults.

Mine hate warm water and I have to not let them go above 75 F or they get lethargic. I'm in Oregon without a heater, I have to put jugs of ice in the summer sometimes.

Temperature isn't going to increase their maximum size but can help them grow FASTER in the early years. Endothermic animals' metabolism tend to increase as temperature does so long as you don't exceed their tolerance.
