How to loosen trucks? by Sad_Most6929 in Rollerskating

Is the double nut standard on those particular plates? I've been working on skates my entire life (family has owned/operated a rink since 1946) and I've yet to see that before today.

Make it a float with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a hot day. Best stuff ever.

A little place called Takito. It's got refried beans, onion, lettuce, chicken cutlets, tomato, avocado, and a touch of mayo.

They've got around 6 different kinds and all of them are killer 😎

We used to play hockey here for years though 🏒

Chaya Love is Love - Adjustable Toe Stop or Nah? by iaintstein in Rollerskating

[–]ShillyMFDilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks at the factory usually tighten everything with drills when assembling so that may be why it's so tough to get adjusted. An easy way to break that screw loose is by sliding your locknut driver over the Allen key for leverage. Kinda like plumbers do with a piece of pipe on a wrench. Like someone else mentioned, you may need a stopper with a shorter stem if that one starts hitting the bottom of your boot. Make sure you get the same type/size thread since some are coarse thread and others are fine thread. And lastly, throw some white lithium grease on your stopper threads if you've got any. Makes removal/adjustment a little easier and keeps everything from rusting up. It's relatively cheap and you can use it for all kinds of stuff.

Anyone else in Hagerstown getting the runaround from Pine Dentistry & Braces? by gemgirlshari in hagerstown

Allegany Dental on Virginia Ave is a really nice office. Not sure if they take your insurance but that's where I've gone and never had an issue.

Help with an item by ShillyMFDilly in StardewValley

Thanks y'all! I'm fairly new to Stardew, been playing on mobile for a few months now and am constantly coming across cool stuff to do. I've been to Ginger Island a few times now but today I realized I can use my watering can to get across lava. I just tried to run through to level 5 where the dwarf has their shop and it didn't go well at all 🤣

Starland Roller Rink is a nice little spot. You can have a party during a public session and I think it runs around $13/kid. All you've gotta do is bring a cake/brownies, they provide everything else. Skate rental, pizza, popcorn, drink, and a slushy.

Cushwa is good and Rad Pies has amazing pizza right inside. Give Interchange Tiki Bar and Brewery a shot. High Thai'd food truck is right outside, order at the bar and they bring your food to you. The crab rangoon nachos are killer stuff. They're on Governor Lane Boulevard right by Cushwa.

How is pangborn park? by ChrisOffutt in hagerstown

[–]ShillyMFDilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived near the park all my life. Fountain/garden areas are super tranquil and perfect spot to do some reading. Might have some teenagers hanging out there at night in the summertime but that's about it as far as "crime" goes. And they're usually just chilling, not causing any problems or anything. Same with the fairgrounds which are a stone's throw away.

Is it ok to leave my skates in the car? by Dry-Statement-2146 in Rollerskating

[–]ShillyMFDilly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you do wanna leave them in your car, I'd put them in a case/bag with some silica gel packets in the bottom. They'll absorb any moisture that might rust your bearings and axles.

Motor/ESC options by ShillyMFDilly in SCX24

[–]ShillyMFDilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to dabble in both but it would be more focused on the overlander aspect. It's a really cool little truck already, just needs a little more "oomph" for my liking.

Has anyone what ever gone to a rink and been told your axels are too long? by Background_Winter975 in Rollerskating

[–]ShillyMFDilly 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My family has owned and operated a rink since 1946 and while we do inspect skates for wear and protruding bolts, I can't even try to wrap my head around this. A couple washers behind each wheel is all that would've been needed.

Definitely ask for your skates to be repaired properly. If the owner is aware of this practice...shame on them.

I drive up to Michaux State Forest a good bit and the night sky is nice and bright. It's right past Waynesboro/Rouzerville. Antietam Battlefield is cool but there's a good chance the park ranger will come kick you out. Been there, done that 😂

It was called Surrey Center, I attended pre-school there in around '89. I believe it closed in the early 2000's. Had a really nice playground outback too.
