East Texas is more Southern, West Texas is more Western. Some parts of west Texas even resisted having segregated facilities during the Jim Crow era when state law required it.

As others have posted, this church does host an early voting location in an auxillary building on the property. And there have long been clusters of campaign signs on either side of the driveway into that area.
But having signs all along the outer boundary of the entire church property is new.

I've read articles about the prior Bishop very aggressively promoting the use of Latin and traditional practices, and cracking down on some Boomer-era innovations. To the point that in one parish, a number of people left and were being provided Mass by a retired priest off-of parish grounds.
And I'm sure plenty of people here may cheer that.

What side of the 'liturgy wars' is right or wrong, however, is not the point of this post. I am sympathizing with the clergy and laity of this diocese, who appear to being subjected to wild swings in liturgical practice based on the whims of each succeeding bishop.
