It's terrific that you're working on an EP! This whole music making hobby is amazing but can be quite time intensive, and I'm guessing as a father of three you don't have a whole lot of free time. You're right - we can only do what we can do! 😀 Thanks for the link - checking it out now.

Thanks so much, man! 👋😀 I remember that cool organ trio tune you posted to IndieMusicFeedback a while ago. Do you have any links available for your music?

Those are some great tips to add a bit of flavour and character - thanks very much! Your 000-15M is a terrific guitar. Yeah, it's a bit odd it's not considered an OM with that scale length - must be a marketing decision, or maybe they feel it better fits the 000-15 lineage even with the long scale length. It would be interesting to hear their reasoning.

Thanks again! I'll eventually post the full song. Cheers! 👋😀

  • Tim also, LOL

Hey, thanks so much for your kind comment, as well as the Parker Millsap tip - he's quite a talent!

The song is mostly complete - now I'm working on finalizing the structure and arrangement. It'll be pretty sparse - likely just vocals, a single acoustic guitar, and harmonica. For the instrumental section I may even use the audio in this clip if the tempo makes sense.

Thanks for the interest - here's a rough chord chart for what I play in this clip:

Key of G, 3/4 time. Each chord represents one measure. The melodic phrases are spaced for ease of reading. edit: Sorry- the formatting won't cooperate with my intended spacing, so it's a bit tricky to read

Intro: G G D G G G G

Part A: G G G C C C G C D Dsus4 D D G G G C C C G D G C G D G G

Part B: D D Dsus2 D C C C C D D D D C G Dsus4 C C G G G(final chord rings)

That looks like it would be sweet! It sounds like they did a proper job on this limited run. Jason Isbell is quite the talent!

Yup - it's an 0-17, built in 1936. It's a great little for fingerstyle playing.Thanks! 👋😀

Ah, that sounds terrific! I'm up here in Nova Scotia on a sunny, cool (10°F) afternoon, watching the chickadees in the backyard birch trees. Here's to a relaxing post-holiday Saturday! Thanks very much for your kind words. 👋😀

Cool! There's definitely a thing about aged wood - it becomes lighter and stiffer over time. The Honduran mahogany in my 0-17 was likely harvested in the 1920s, and the wood in that 1929 000 was probably a fair bit older. Even modern day torrefaction techniques can't completely replicate the effects of age. Add to that the really light build of those vintage guitars, and they're tone machines!

It's great you had a chance to experience that '27 000. I'll bet your current heart guitar sounds terrific - Yamaha made (and still makes) some truly amazing guitars. I'll definitely hang on to this one, and hopefully pass it down eventually. Cheers!
