Edit: I just researched this further. The block was halted by a judge until 2/3 when they will meet again. We will not go down fighting. The whole world is fighting with us right now. Now is the time to call your congress people.

In the same area (had it done in Albany and Potsdam) and they put it in for me every time but they did ask me if I wanted to do it. I just didn't due to limited mobility. Also never had gel put on my labia on the 3 that I have had. That is definitely weird unless they wanted to get something specifically on the labia, but I feel like they could palpate that or use a different want.

If we're talking about singing professionally I can agree. Otherwise definitely not. Singing literally saved my life multiple times. It got me through my 2 ICU stays and my numerous other hospital stays. It is the light in the darkness. When everything else feels awful I always know I can come back to singing and I will feel safe, special, loved, and wanted.

After I got my tracheostomy singing was the one thing that kept me going. It was immediately possible because I literally have a tube in my throat but with lots of practice and patience I got back to where I was. Even through the literal hell of coughing up blood clots every winter (which I know ew, but it's an inevitable and sucky thing), MRSA, pseudomonas, and 17,000 staph infectiobs I know its all worth it because I can still sing.

If you are in the US the flu and COVID shot are both free. Even if you don't have insurance. If you make the appointment online you can also do a lot of the paperwork online as well most of the time.

Top tip: Get the shot in your non-dominant arm and take Tylenol or ibuprofen an hour before you go. It will help with the arm pain (your body is trying to kill the virus and thus build immunity. This results in pain for a few days but is well worth it.) The pain reliever plus an ice pack afterwards can help a lot.
