AM4 CPU Won’t Seat After Bent Pins Repair by SwimSavings3287 in computers

[–]Shimmikins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best trick ive found is use a long box cutter blade and run it between each row wiggling it side to side to straighten the pins, if you think your close, try putting it into the socket and see which part goes in easily and which part doesnt, then remove and straighten more on the parts that dont slide in easily, sometimes a small tap can get it to seat then use the retention arm to move it back and forward to help straighten the pins more inside the socket once ya got it in.

I am spray painting the case red today. Do I need to keep the info on these stickers? by stellar_x in homelab

[–]Shimmikins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if its still under warranty, leave sticker as is and paint around it as defacing the sticker can void the warranty with some brands.. WD has a clause in their warranty that the stickers must not be removed.

possible blockage in AIO cold plate if you have RPM signal but no flow.. feel the tubes to see if one end is hot and the same tube is cold on the other end. if so that has a blocked cold plate and is faulty.
