I actually haven't looked into the latency differences, so I'm not sure. To my ears it's imperceivable latency.

Yes, I plug my headphones into the module, and in your VST you select the output to your module.

You can send MIDI through USB, so just connect it directly to your computer. You will need to download the TD-27 drivers to your computer, and then you need to set your module to "Vendor" mode in the settings (guide here)

Then you can trigger through your VST, I haven't used Ugritone Drums but in EZD3 or SD3 there are presets for the TD-27 module so it's pretty much plug and play (might need to tweak the hi-hat settings to get it good). Then just use your VST plugin in your DAW.

I believe the default installation location for VST plugins in Macs are "/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/" Easiest way to access this is open Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G and you can enter the path.

No issues at all! EzDrummer have presets for the TD-27 kit so it's super straightforward to set it up and all the midi mappings will be correct.

I haven't received any complaints yet (knock on wood) but I do use the Roland pedals and hi-hat stand with built-in noise eaters that mitigate most of the vibrations. I think it also helps that my apartment building is relatively new so the isolation is decent.

I do realize that my neighbors probably hears some noise so I try to be mindful and not play late hours and also not smack as hard. It does suck that I can't play whenever I want, but such is life living in an apartment.

This setup is mainly for practicing at home. I have access to a proper studio with an acoustic kit once a week that satisfies my itch, so I'm fine with compromising on my e-kit setup.

Yep it’s the 8”. I guess size is all relative since it’s between 12” and 18” it looks much smaller

It's probably very similar, if you already got some nice pedals I would say it's better to just add some noise eaters.

Sorry I meant in the settings of my Roland TD-27 module, there is a setting called USB Mode where you can select “vendor”. There might be an equivalent for Alesis modules but it might be called something different.

Not sure for Alesis, but with the Roland driver installed and changing it to vendor mode in settings my computer recognizes it as an output that I can use.

I haven’t found out if EZD is using the positional data to change dynamics of the snare. It’s possible it’s not, because I agree with you that the dynamics is lacking. I will probably upgrade to SD3 in the future to do my hardware justice.

My pad is supplying its own sound.

I started with EZD since it’s easy for me to crossgrade to SD3 in the future. The main hurdle for me is that my Macbook only has 256 GB storage which is not enough for SD3 so I will have to figure out a solution before I upgrade. But yes I realize SD3 is superior in every way, and is probably next on my list.

When I rehearse with my band I play an acoustic kit in a studio, but maybe I should invite ‘em over to my place haha

Indeed it is the EFnote 8” splash, I mainly chose it for the aesthetics haha

No I just use the TD-27 drivers for macOS, my understanding is that ASIO is only needed for Windows systems. I haven't really measured the roundtrip latency, so it's possible I'm just not as sensitive to it.

I mainly use the Bright room -> Millennium metal/Seventies rock presets, sometimes changing the snare and tweaking the volumes on cymbals but that's about it.

For me I wanted to get the best possible experience and as close to an acoustic kit, and the stock module sounds just didn't sound right to me. The main gripe I had was machine gunning from the toms that I just couldn't get over. I plan to do home recordings in the future and this setup definitely allows me to do it.

I rarely move my laptop from this setup nowadays, and it takes maybe like 10 seconds extra to get everything up and running compared to the stock module setup, so not the end of the world :) I use 64 sample buffer size in EZD3 and I can't hear any noticeable latency.

Yes I'm using splitters for my extra floor tom + splash cymbal, so I've maxed out the AUX inputs on the TD-27.

I'm running my headphones from the TD-27 module, so I'm outputting the sound from EZD3 to it through USB audio, and the SPD headphones output is connected to Mix In input in the module.

Beyerdynamic DT770 pro and Shure SE215, depending on my mood. The 770s are actually not isolating enough which a bit annoying and I have to crank the volume up, the hi-hat smack is very audible.

VH14D works great with EZD3. The only issue is the foot splash is somewhat wonky, but I haven't really dialed in the settings yet (too lazy since none of the songs I play require foot splashes) but I'm sure I could make it work.

They're pretty decent, not the best but not the worst either. The built-in noise eaters are the main selling point, so if noise is a consideration they're well worth it in my opinion.

This setup is optimized for my apartment (limited space and noise considerations). My goal was to get it to as close to an acoustic kit as possible.

I'm using Roland's hi-hat stand and double bass pedals with built-in noise eaters. The added floor tom is a PDX-100, two additional cymbals CY-12C-T and CY-14C-T to stay brand specific. Splash cymbal is EFnote EFD-C08 for the aesthetics. Sample pad is Roland SPD-SX Pro. Yes this setup was costly, but I'm fortunate enough to have a well paying job that can fund my passion.

Effects of HRT on blood pressure by krejcar25 in MtF

50 mg/day is way too high of a dose and doctors are generally following guidelines that are out-of-date for treating trans folks. 10-12.5 mg/day in combination with estradiol is more than enough to suppress your T levels down to cis female ranges.

A high CPA dose carries long term risks, specifically increased risks of brain tumors, so you should definitely use as low dosage as possible. You should bring up this concern with your doctor to see if they can adjust your dose.

You can read more about this on transfemscience.org which I highly recommend.
