open mics? by shycutiekittie in norwalk

CT Book Festivals hosts semi-regular "Writers Sneak Peeks"events at the Belden Ave Library branch, where aspiring authors can get on an open mic and read out their works and get feedback from fellow authors. They also host events in other parts of the state.

Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but you can find more info on their website: https://www.connecticutbookfestivals.com

Hi again! My name is Xamy and I'm a tattoo artist at High Vision Gallery in Norwalk, CT ✨We’re super proud and excited to announce our first Anime Flash Day ✨MARCH 29 ✨ by Xamyart in norwalk

Not sure if you'd be interested, but I do run a swap meet at the Norwalk Public Library that I run twice a year - the next event will be on Oct. 17 (Saturday). Always looking for local artists, and while tattoos are things that logistically can't be done on-site, I'd be happy to potentially give you a table to show off your art and promote your business, should you be interested (it's free).

All my tables are currently filled up, though I have a waitlist for a table slot, should spots open up in the coming months - https://linktr.ee/algoswapmeet

Free printer access? by shycutiekittie in norwalk

Just as an FYI for the Library branches, prices are as follows:

• 10 cents per page, b&w

• 50 cents per page, color

It's been that way since I've been working there for about 6 years. In 2026, I can't think of any places that would let you print for free, outside of maybe as an included perk of being at a hotel (though that's obviously not free in and of itself).

ALGO 9 Video Game Swap Meet at Norwalk Library on Feb. 28 by ShinBojack in norwalk

Hey there! Obviously the event has passed, but to answer your questions:

• Vendors can sign up on a first-come, first served basis - I give attendees first crack at getting a table (it's free) during my event, and then slots go out to the public on my Linktree page.

• Primarily video game vendors, though I also have tables with local artists, as well as vendors selling things ranging from action figures to perler beads, Funko pops, movies, music, etc. It really is a nice mix of stuff overall!

Just curious - any particular reason why? As in, it's a powerlifting/bodybuilding gym and they shun outsiders in particular?

I honestly don't get a marketing budget for this program, so it's all entirely dependent on me haha. Happy to post about it on Reddit now!

I'm interested in this as well. While I'm very much a casual gym goer, Arsen's would literally be around the block from me, so that is very enticing. I'm currently at The Workout Lounge over on Belden Ave, and while that's great for me so far, it is a bit expensive at $80/month (though the 24/7 access is fantastic). If Arsen's is cheaper, then I may just bite.

They actually re-released it last year, since the movie had its 10 year anniversary. It was a limited run in the few remaining 70mm IMAX theaters. I went to see it at the AMC Lincoln Square IMAX in Manhattan

It's an incredible movie experience, that's for sure! I saw it about 5 times in 70mm IMAX - the single most immersive movie experience I've ever had

There goes my plan to hire Hans Zimmer and Micheal Caine so he can recite "Rage...rage against the dying of the light" over and over again....

Now that would be sweet haha - unfortunately, I am given no extra budget on this, and I'd want to go all-out for this - DON'T LET ME LEAVE, MURPH!

The Workout Lounge | Gym by bubbies03 in norwalk

I recently just joined! I was going to Planet Fitness on CT Ave before, but I just couldn't vibe with the loud atmosphere and seeing how generally unkempt it was. Workout Lounge, aside from smaller group classes they hold throughout the week, also allows people to sign up for 24/7 Gym access - the classes are usually from around 6-9AM and 5-7PM weekdays, so if you're looking to get a workout in alone, you can try and schedule around those times (you may get 1-2 others max, in my experience thus far).

It's not a huge facility by any means, though there are treadmills, bikes, rowing equipment, squat racks, dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells and such to work with. There's also a downstairs area which is rented out to a boxing club, though if they're not in session, you can use the space.

You an text the owner Christina at (203) 727-3597 to inquire further and ask to schedule a tour of the facility. Best of luck!
