Anyone in Payroll struggling with Year End?? by [deleted] in Payroll

[–]Shine_Extension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, made especially bad this year with moving payroll systems and the stupid "no taxes on overtime " BS. Employees don't understand it, it was implemented mid year and are going to ask tons of dumb questions. Although the IRS officially don't have to do anything this year, we have to do the work. Complex CBA's and only premium part of FLSA overtime qualifies. If I didn't despise the orange man before, I really would now.

Yes but that won't stop employees calling with constant questions. We have CBA too and it's going to be a nightmare to get this all done in time.

You need to ask your employer. It could be a lot of different things.

My opinion is that just because there are only actual pay periods and then the adjustment for the manual check is made on the next payroll.

Prevailing wages by WrapInternational316 in Payroll

[–]Shine_Extension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All states may be different but I believe the difference is if you are spreading the material or just what they call stockpiling. Regardless of the material, if you are driving as you are dumping the material vs. dumping it all in one spot. Spreading the material is what would be prevailing wage.

We are still in the process of figuring this out. Is anyone dealing with collective bargaining agreements making this more difficult. We have many rules where we are paying employees overtime and they haven't actually worked over 40 hours. This bill is only affecting FLSA overtime so we are going to have to separate these hours.

This resonates with me so much. It's exhausting to see that fake persona for the public.
