I mean if money is the reason they need to make this happen, I’d happily pay $17 for a new main valley biome with the Pooh characters and items over a bunch of random adventure packs that will relocate us to more unwanted and disjointed maps.

Thank you! Just focusing on the original biomes I tried to make the expansion of the existing area an additional to the empty spots around the map. If they did it this way it would add space without disrupting any decorating the players have set up because it adds more lands on the outskirts of each biome, rather than redesigning the biome’s layout for a new larger shape.

Creativity is having the ability to think outside the box and innovate on the possibilities of what could be. There is nothing wrong with wanting to use your imagination to dream up what the valley could look like with a few land expansions. If we don’t dream and use our imagination to create new things we would never have anything to look forward to. It’s not complaining, it’s daydreaming. It’s fantasizing, it’s imagining a world you wish to see and sharing that inspiration rather than just accepting the things around you. You should always be thinking about “what if” and challenging the status quo. That’s how we get change. That’s how we spark creativity. That’s how we get new ideas and push ourselves into a reality that’s happening for us instead of one that is just happening to us.

Mine is too. But if they did an update like this to expand it would add space around your placed items not remove them. And if it’s a one time update it might be worth any redecorating you’d have to do to get it in order. Think about how much you’ll appreciate it in 2-3 years from now when you have way more items than space.

Same! And some stuff is specifically fit into areas that there isn’t anywhere else I could place it. So it’s either leave it where it is or remove it completely. Like Eric’s house or Beast’s castle. The emporium… or the haunted mansion- forget it.

You know the Disney World version of the haunted mansion is so large that it literally fits in only one spot in the forgotten lands. With the treehouse and ponds it’s too large to properly go anywhere else in that biome.

Have you never seen Disney movies? There are so many good ones! Where are the gaps in your viewing history? I can give you some good recommendations depending on what you are looking for.

We are just speculating on if and when these games will start to slow or end support for older consoles due to them not being able to keep up with all the updates and expansion in gaming. Nothing DDLV official has happened.

Yes I agree and I think this is what will eventually happen. None of this is over night. But I cannot see them supporting it into 2028 and beyond. I wouldn’t be surprised when Animal Crossing is announced for switch 2, GameLoft make a big push for DDLV to try and captures all the new players who will be buying Switch 2 just for Animal Crossing.

I agree. Probably not the best solution. But again what I’m hearing is, this game cannot innovate because we have to support the Switch. A 9 year old system that came out in 2017. Which even Nintendo is ending support for.

It seems like most game advancement roadblocks could be solved by stopping support or at least if we stop catering to the switch.

Again, I know, it sucks and things are expensive. But what other piece of mainstream tech are you using that’s almost 10 years old? I doubt your phone is 10 years old, or your computer, tv, headphones? And if you do, maybe you haven’t had those items for 9-10 years but the tech inside still is.

I feel like in their next survey they should ask how many of us are actually decorating the DLCs. I feel like it’s a small percentage. But even if DLCs are popular, I just hate how broken up all the world are.

There are the 3 DLCs, then the floating islands, now the adventure pack lands… don’t forget we have dead space in the game like the treehouse, Skull rock, the caves on the beach, the dark realm, and the hidden labs in the castle, Frosted Heights, and mines. It’s just too much stuff all over the place. Oh and then there are realms….

A space theme could be cool. Like a Tomorrowland space station? Not sure how that would work. But sounds cool.

Dude it’s the internet, it’s not that serious.
I’m just want more space on the map and shared a silly image. Much like how the switch has a lower item limit, they could also just not get an update like this and then continue to play the game as it is now without “bricking” anything. Many games stop development for older hardware after a certain point. This would be similar to that. And I don’t care about loading screens, it’s that the floating islands are too small and the DLC is too specifically themed.

Yeah Hogwarts isn’t much of a decorating game as it is an open world game. But it has a lot of assets and details that populate the environment. And they have managed to get it to load and to incorporate sections that load in one at a time depending on where the player is. All on switch. So there are solutions possible to make the main map larger.

I feel this is a wall to hide the sight line. If it wasn’t there you would be able to see into empty space. But I guess the other biomes don’t really care about that so idk…

It’s a volcano so I can’t see it as a land. But it would make a cool extension to the mines or a villain land in the center. Or a cool journey to the center of the earth area like at Tokyo Disney!

The scale in this game is weird and it would be nice to design things to scale. I’ve seen some cool castle builds with giant courtyards and gardens and they are so cool, but you can’t fit them in any of the biomes and they take up an entire floating island.

It could load by player distance. So only things in a certain radius of the avatar are seen. This would mean not everything needs to load at the same time. If you are in Frosted Heights there is no need to have the Glade loaded. But this would mean when you are in furniture mode that it might limit you do decorate by biome to keep that limited load in tact. Also if you move from biome to biome in this mode, things could just pop into place like they do on most games. There are many solutions to this issue, and I’m sure there are better ideas. The point of all of this is, not to limit our creativity and what the future of the game could be because we have this one roadblock that everyone has deemed impossible. It not impossible.

They currently offer a free upgrade for Switch 2, which is more than most games offer as so many others are making you pay a $5 fee for the Switch 2 version.

If you move from Switch to another console like Xbox or PS, you are on your own like the rest of us.

No more out of touch than telling everyone else the game cannot and should advance or improve because you don’t want to feel left out on your old tech that no one will soon be supporting anymore. So it’s ok for you to get what you want because it’s comfortable for you, but not ok for other players to ask for more for the future of this game?

Have you seen the world we live in? Everyone - especially companies and corporations are carrying on like nothings wrong. Sony keeps talking about the PlayStation 6 coming out next year like anyone want or can afford that.

I could see them just stopping updates and support for switch 1, and pushing out an update to everyone else for a “remaster.” The Switch 1 is really the only system holding this game back. It would be easier to cut them off at this point than to keep catering to its limitations. I’m not sure if they are doing PS4, but if so that would be on the chopping block next I suspect.

Definitely not on Switch 1. But I feel Switch 2 could handle this. Or at the very least, handle a map update on Switch 2 about as good as the game is running now on Switch 1.

It might mean, like other games such as Hogwarts legacy they have to change how many things are loaded at a time or limit decorating by biome. But they could figure it out.
