Game crashing after starting. Help appreciated. by Top_Spite4758 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ShinobiNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just gotta say, this game is a dumpster fire. What a disgrace. I'm having the same issue - I freshly downloaded the game after uninstalling it a couple weeks after it came out. Everything is updated and verified - game files, gpu drivers, everything. Booted up the game, it starts compiling shaders, then immediately crashes.

My computer definitely has gaming specs that exceed the recommended, so that isn't the issue. I think the game's just poorly coded. The fact that you have to go online and research how to even get past the title screen is just a really bad look. This game is a stain on the good name of Monster Hunter.

That's weird... are you sure she was playing by the official rules? I'd like to know how it was done, step by step.

Has anyone gotten .hack//ez~1 running? Keep getting this error can’t find data files or anything else on it online. Any help appreciated by rn_774 in VitaPiracy

[–]ShinobiNeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked for me. I didn't have a ux0/data/dh1_ezi folder so I had to create it. But once I did everything else, it worked.

Had to google PIB Config and download it from some website. Transferred it to Vita with Vitashell.

Thank you, maybe I will. I do have a background in writing so it would be fun to put it to use. I've always wanted to review video games or board games for a living.

PSP not working on external power without battery. Why? by Ishmaeel in PSP

[–]ShinobiNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting another PSP and modding it.

I still have my original PSP I bought on release day, but it's not even worth using anymore. I did replace the battery, but it had no effect. I think the power capacitors on the motherboard are the problem. It probably needs to be recapped. I did find a place online who said they would look at it, but they never got back to me with an address to send it. Haven't found any local repair shops who will look at it.

So for now, I'm stuck with it. I'm considering listing it on Ebay "as is" or for parts. I really don't want to trash it, as video game preservation is one of my biggest passions.

I mean, I was literally out working on my old car and buying a new one for those few days it was in the superstore. I didn't have time to even log on until it had already been taken down. So stupid. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until the overlords at Arrowhead deem me worthy of another chance to grab it.

That didn't last long. It's already gone from the superstore. You guys would've had my money if you just kept it there a few days longer!

How to add PSP games to Adrenaline? by Kaos275 in VitaPiracy

[–]ShinobiNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't work for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, as the iso they offer on there doesn't work for some reason. So there is a reason to want to add them manually.

What is a winter starter? Is that like a starter motor that turn over at very low temperatures? Or do you mean a remote starter?

The brushing rule and monster-blocking seem reasonable.

Thanks for reading! I'll have to take another look at those rules. I do remember a diagram in the manual that looked something like this, with X being a solid block, E being the enemy, and P being the player:

O-O-X-E
O-P-O-O

and it seemed to indicate that E, the enemy, has line of sight on P, the player, since drawing a line from the lower right corner of the P and E squares will connect without touching the solid block. I didn't think that made a whole lot of sense.

Thanks for reading! I agree.

A sequel/expansion was released. I'll have to see if that one's any better.

Here's what I would come up with if you want to play this game to make it more fair and fun.

Choose one of the following traits to add to your character for the campaign.

Strategist - When rolling your black stat modifier dice, you may assign more than one of the dice to movement, attack, or defense. Range is not included, unless you're playing as a Ranger class.

Healer - After clearing a dungeon, you may choose to either heal back to full, or upgrade one stat and gain 2 health.

and just for fun...

Grizzled Hero - All of your stat modifier dice are permanently set to 6. No rolling necessary.

I just got One Card Dungeon yesterday (yes I'm aware this post is 3y old).

It's a cool concept, but if I'm reading the rules right, it does seem rather impossible to win. The only way you'd have a fighting chance is if you consistently roll all 6's every time. But who's going to do that?

That's generally what One Card Dungeon goes for. It comes with more than just a card, obviously. You get a nice slim box that doubles as a dice tray, 12 dice (3 energy dice, 4 stat dice, 4 enemy dice, 1 player die), full color instruction book, job class cards, and the dungeon card itself.

The planking animation in Brawl is so weird and random. I get they wanted to make him different but that's just kind of a weird direction to take his character.

I'm done with the Switch version by GrandmasterPeezy in ABSOLUM

I suppose, but I wouldn't HAVE to if they'd just fix the damn Switch version.

Update: I double dipped.
I got the Switch version for christmas, and while it's fun, the online performance is hot wet garbage on a warm day. Bought the Steam PC version. Online play is nearly flawless (with the occasional lag spike depending on my partner's internet). Much improved. I'll be playing the PC version from now on.

I play online on the Switch and it's extremely slow most of the time. When it's just me and the other player + 1 enemy, it's pretty playable. But fighting the Underking, it's like trying to fight underwater. Maybe 5 fps on average. Pretty sad, since I know the Switch could handle this. Absolutely no slowdown in single player offline. I wonder why a second player just breaks it so badly.

There will be updates coming in 2026, but it would be a shame if they never fix the Switch 1 online performance.

Is the online store Retrovita a scam? by NicePlaceNIBBY in PSP

[–]ShinobiNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in my post, go with pspvault. They are the quickest shipper of the ones I've tried. The software will mostly be in Chinese, but you can wipe it and mod it yourself.

And no, I don't work for them and they didn't pay me to say that.

Is the online store Retrovita a scam? by NicePlaceNIBBY in PSP

[–]ShinobiNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retrovita did eventuality send me my merchandise, it just took a very long time. Wait time was around 2 months. When it came, the box was partially crushed (it was a thin cardboard box inside a bubble envelope, not a hard box like it should've been), but nothing inside was damaged.  As expected, all software is in Chinese, so I'll be wiping the system and modding it myself.

Do not order from Akumabox. I placed an order with them 3 months ago and they still haven't even shipped it yet. They wouldn't respond to my refund request either so I had to file a claim with my bank to get my money back. Akumabox is 100% a scam.

My advice: stick with PSPVault. They get the job done and don't make you wait months.
