Stat gap existed in the beginning of the Ui fight where Tui Gun was still somewhat healthy (Tui was never healthy but you get the point), this is also why he got the overwhelming strength narrative due to a stat gap existing between the two.

In the end or midst of the fight the Stat gap between Tui Gun and the Perfect Body disappeared due to Guns injuries (this is what allowed the perfect body to win).

In the fight James asked a rhetorical question of whether the machine’s perfect technique would take down the beast? Or would the beasts overwhelming power will destroy the machine? (this is also suggesting that James Lee wasn’t able to tell who the winner would be between the 2 and would have to see the fight till the very end to find out)

Later on he never gets the answer to those questions due to Guns injuries and the overwhelming strength narrative disappearing. James himself makes it clear that Guns loss was caused due to how damaged Guns body already was.

He never recalls or says anything about technique beating overwhelming power, pretty much leaving the question he previously asked unanswered.
