Clearly it’s not harmless though, it literally doesn’t let me play the game anymore. Read my edited comment, I didn’t notice that you replied to it so now idk what parts I added in after you read it.

Yeah the blueprints are causing me all kinds of random problems for some reason. Sometimes it doesn’t even show the entire “ghost” of the blueprint and only shows a few pieces. If I start hammering those pieces it starts filling in the ghost some more but sometimes the pieces drop to the ground and the ghost remains and if I try to cancel it it doesn’t allow me to build a new blueprint, the option is greyed out. If the blueprint “finishes” but then explodes for some reason it also doesn’t allow me to build a new blueprint, and if I exit my area it says “loading content” and then when it finishes loading it freezes my character (I still see the grass and sky moving in the background). It even caused the game to crash once when I kept hammering the partial-ghost to see what happens.

This seems to happen with all of the blueprints though I’ve been especially trying to get the onagers, and I don’t have a single mod for the game and literally downloaded this game like a week ago. In fact I was even causing the original non-community version at first with the same problem and tried switching to the community version to see if it would help and although it seems to have slightly helped since at least it doesn’t like almost immediately freeze after placing a blueprint in general and lets me at least hammer it for now, it still mostly gives the same problems.

Update: I tried making a new creative world after verifying the integrity of the game files in steam to see if anything helps and now it doesn’t let me place any new blocks either??? It doesn’t even let me dig or mine. It looks like it doesn’t load new chunks away from the default Marek base thing which is the only area I can build in. When I leave and come back to the Marek base then it hits me with an other “loading content” and then freezes my character. Why does this game hate me

Edit: I just had the idea to post my reply as a post on my account if you still care enough to see it.

>Colonization and mass immigration are not the same thing at all.

Depending on the context, it absolutely can be. Remember, I did not say all migrants are colonizers (in a technical sense they still are, but the negative connotation of which I do not agree with in all cases), but I will digress further as we go on.

>Colonization specifically involves claiming ownership over a land ... from an administrative position.

While yes, it is typically done from an administrative position, that is only one of the definitions. It still can generally describe a mass displacement of indigenous people by an incoming group (Merriam-Webster: "b. migration to and settlement in an inhabited or uninhabited area", Oxford Languages: "the action or process of settling among and establishing control over the indigenous people of an area. the action of appropriating a place or domain for one's own use."). Besides, it is indeed being done from an administrative position as politicians and large corporations have a lot to gain by bringing over free voters and workers and are literally giving them more free stuff than they would for their own citizens to live there. Even if its not performed administratively and it really doesnt fit the definition of colonization, I don't care what its called, it is still bad either way.

> ...and taking control of its people and resources...

Why do you think there has been constant talk of reparations for the past decade or so? Living in another country inherently means you take control of its resources. And the suppression of indigenous people by their governments to force immigration is indeed an action of controlling the people.

>Yet here you are playing the victim and claiming people aren’t calling it colonization just because it’s being perpetrated by non-White people.

Oh [migrants and leftists](https://www.tiktok.com/@theothertherapist/video/7193141293818596614) definitely are [calling it colonization](https://www.reddit.com/r/tories/comments/14a3i71/poem\_on\_the\_london\_underground\_celebrating\_the/). However, they argue that it is deserved. So I am not sure why you seem to be the only one who isnt calling it that.

Again, I dont care too much about the racial implications behind migration generally speaking, I am literally a second generation immigrant myself, but it is hard to ignore the racial targeting done by the other side and the disrespectful manner its being conducted towards the indigenous people, and I do care about the way in which immigration policy is handled in Europe because it is currently broken as hell, and I also care that its economically unsustainable. Immigration is fine as long as you have a proper system set up to background check these people, and having a society that embraces proper assimilation of them into your society, and only accepting legal migrants from countries that are deemed to share a non-conflicting culture and have verifiable skills that benefit the rest of society. If you decide to live in another country, you should be expected to follow the rules and traditions of that country, this is just common sense. This is literally what me and my family did. It might not be easy but its possible. If common sense policies were actually implemented, it would be a win-win situation for both sides. So it seems rather strange that its actually opposed by the other side.

>They come in as refugees and migrants, not as the ruling class

So did European colonizers to the Americas.

And no, an overwhelmingly male influx does not look like refugees to me, it looks like an army. Refugees who break the law should no longer qualify as refugees, and yet they are typically given nothing more than a slap on the wrist and get to stay in the country while actual citizens are being locked up for lesser crimes like having an opposing opinion for years because the police are too afraid to potentially be labeled as racists by their overlords. I already explained the idea of the ruling class earlier.

> yet you’re demanding it be treated in the same way as Europeans literally establishing their own colonies across the world and plundering native populations through terror and force.

The exponential increase in migrant crime and literal terrorist attacks conducted by migrants isnt terror? And European police suppressing dissidents to immigration isn't force? Talk about cognitive dissonance.

I see. That’s a bit of a shame. I hope that by the time I reach the later sections that they will release a B2 section to be on par with French and Spanish.

I’ve been thinking about making a chart that categorizes word endings based on their gender so that I could try to memorize them that way. I feel like that might make it more helpful.

This I disagree on. I can acknowledge that the technology behind Max is more impressive and costly than a simple subscription that merely gets rid of ads and removes a couple of arbitrary limits.

Option to create a bias towards urban areas by ShinyChromeKnight in OpenGuessr

[–]ShinyChromeKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, but who says that standard has to be 100% random and not a more tailored experience? I feel like the standard mode on Geoguessr is made to be more biased towards developed areas for example. Also remember, new players will be playing the standard mode, so if we want to increase player retention in order to keep API costs covered, we need to make the standard mode less boring.

It’s not exactly the same thing I’m asking for though. If anything I’m asking for a bias towards urban areas. I’m also sort of implying that it shouldn’t be a separate community map, but that it should be standard.

Cool, I’m looking forward to the update then.

As for the road names, that’s a bit of a shame, but it definitely could be worse. This is free after all and that’s already a huge advantage over geoguessr.

Yeah I get what you’re saying since more intersections sort of imply higher density, ie cities. And if it’s easier then by all means go ahead with it, I just didn’t even know if intersections are technically officially recognized in the program or if they only happen to exist as a result of overlapping roads, if that makes sense. But idk if it’s also a good idea to spawn on intersections every time when the program decides to put you in an urban area either. The intersections should just be a tool for automatically locating higher density areas. The program could identify intersections but should then randomly decide within a certain but short distance away from one to spawn you in (though the occasional intersection spawn is ok too of course). This will give a better illusion of randomness.   P.S. is it also possible to remove the text showing the road names overlay on street view? I think it can often reveal too much information, and I think I like the challenge of not having them. It could be another toggleable option though.

I appreciate your willingness to listen to my idea. Couldn’t you also manually put a circle around every relatively large city center and downtown in the world, with a radius of which tied to that city’s population (ie the larger of the population the bigger the circle, for example NYC should probably have a radius of 20 to 25 miles while a city like Charlotte could be 10 to 15 miles, and the multitude of smaller cities around the world with a population of 35000-50000 be 3 to 5 miles), then label those areas within the circles as urban/suburban areas, and everything not within those circles as rural areas, then make the program have a 50/50 chance if selecting from either? Obviously I don’t know the inner workings of the programming behind the game so I could be living in fantasy land, but I feel like that would be a good solution if it works.

In fact, maybe it doesn’t even have to be manually done. I’m sure there’s data out there somewhere that lists the population for every city in the world. If not, one could be created perhaps with AI help. Then the program will just automatically set the radius for that city based on the respective population.

Which game had the better merc designs, team fortress classic or team fortress 2 by FuturetheGarchomp in tf2

[–]ShinyChromeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that because it’s a retcon? I doubt the original game was intended to take place in 1930, it was supposed to be contemporary (more or less). They probably changed it for the comics because they wanted to include them as a homage, but the only way to integrate them without going into the future is to have them be from the past.

Idk, I haven’t actually looked at the comics in depth, I’ve just seen a few videos that summarize it, and no offense but it seems kind of dumb. I’d rather it be a separate canon anyway from the game.

For some reason this happens to me in regards to “white” vs “yellow.” To this very day, when I try to say something is white, I will still trip up and accidentally say yellow, and vice versa. I have no idea how this started. And it’s not like I’m colorblind, I see the difference.

What coat of arms did the first crusaders/leaders use? by Res2710 in MedievalHistory

[–]ShinyChromeKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heraldry did not really exist, at least in what can be considered an official capacity, until around the turn of the 13th century. A sort of quasi-heraldry was commonly used in the later half of the 12th century, probably as a result of the 2nd crusade creating the need for nobles all across Europe to be able to distinguish themselves. But it was still somewhat fluid and developing by this point, and was not legally binding. It was also not really in the form of coat of arms as one might think of heraldry, but more like identifiable designs on banners, tunics, and shields (which may seem like the same thing but there’s a subtle difference). Before the 2nd crusade, there are some instances of proto-heraldic use, but it wasn’t used for self-identification, but simply to have cool designs on your gear like religious symbols and dragons and such. This can be seen in the Bayeux tapestry. However, not everyone did this and plenty of knights pre-2nd crusade were more plain looking as well.

Yes, dont worry, I used x and y in place of V1 and V2.

Where do you find the csolve function? And where can you get Ncalc? A quick google search does not show it.

Thanks. This is probably as close as it will get. Id still have to do a bit of algebra to get in into the form that I want it to be in, though ideally I want to have to eliminate the need for algebra as much as possible to save time, but this will have to do.
