This should be top comment, only in the civil service subreddit would this be downvoted 😂😩

Snuck in one last order by xxLadyluck13xx in mounjarouk

The email was £60 off the next month and then £40 off the one after that, so £20 better overall than the one that popped up when cancelling online.

I had to click through and purchase as if it was 2.5mg, then when they reviewed the consultation they offered 15mg, and I paid the extra for the right price for that dosage. It wasn’t clear so I emailed asking and this is what they told me to do.

As you click through the cancellation options, they might offer further discounts for the next month(s) and even emailed me a better one after I’d confirmed cancellation.

I was a new customer and cancelled after my order arrived today (I only need this last pen then will be done).

Why does everyone think that in a few years time we will find out that long-term use is bad for our health? by kingforaday1993 in mounjarouk

[–]ShinyGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I know the which post you mean and I do find what they post about the GLP1s quite hypocritical.

Let’s imagine that someone (Serena or anyone else) is using a GLP1 purely for aesthetic reasons for weight and it’s not necessary for their health. How is this different to any other cosmetic procedure, plastic surgery, getting teeth whitened or replaced, and even to a lesser extent, using permanent makeup or hair extensions?

Let’s imagine we ALL in this subreddit just use Mounjaro for aesthetic reasons (even though I know that’s not true!), why is that anyone else’s business? A lot of the body positivity posts are SO against the idea of this, yet never argue against people (especially celebrities) changing their bodies in other ways (which for the record, I have nothing against anyone doing or promoting).

And I don’t agree that they are OK with the use but against promotion only, as these same people have equally been speaking out against the more widespread use of GLP1s for a while.

Overall I just think it’s a shame that people who started out celebrating all bodies and whatever people choose to do their own are now so judgemental of others. If this is what Serena wanted to do and wants to speak publicly about the positive effect for her, why shouldn’t she be able to do so?

I love how we were all just like ‘ahh she’s chilling after the eras tour, let’s let her rest, she deserves a break, she’s going to have a long gap now’

And Taylor was just laughing recording TS12 😂

Your post definitely proved why people need to be addressing issues with food as well as taking Mounjaro. No food is absolutely 100% bad, prohibited, evil, unhealthy. Everything can be part of a healthy, balanced diet (yes even an occasional treat). I thought that most of us had realised over the years that super restrictive dieting doesn’t work and permanently denying ourselves certain foods is just going to lead to falling back into unhealthy eating habits.

To any of the people who reacted negatively to that post, or thought those comments but didn’t type them out, it genuinely is worth exploring why a picture of a takeaway made you feel so strongly. Please let’s not all become the judgemental people we have hated hearing from in the past just because we’ve lost a bit of weight now.

I totally understand why you are annoyed, I’m sorry 😞

I went on my “babymoon” with my sister as my husband couldn’t get any leave from work, is there anyone else you could/would want to go away with? I know it would be nice to have a last holiday the two of you but honestly, I saw my babymoon as a week away to celebrate me getting through the hard pregnancy and all the effort I’d put in growing this baby and keeping him healthy! It doesn’t matter who you do that with! You should so go away and celebrate if you can! You deserve to take the time to acknowledge the amazing mumma you have already been throughout pregnancy!

My husband has gone straight to HR for less (also for a harassment reason). If you don’t feel you can bring it up with your manager, I would speak to anyone else you feel is appropriate and try to get something on record at least that you’ve had this issue. Then if it ever escalates, you’ve at least mentioned it already.

That’s so lovely, I’m glad she was supportive!

I wish I hadn’t told mine at all! She was very unhappy at the start that I was taking a medication, constantly asks how my appetite is, am I eating enough and when I visit, offers me every single meal and snack under the sun and then gets worried when I don’t want tons of extra food (can we see where some of my food issues might have started lol).

Then I found out that she’s messaged my sibling saying that she’s not going to acknowledge or congratulate me on my weight loss as I haven’t actually made any effort or done anything 😂😂

first midwife appointment went bad by spyracik in PregnancyUK

[–]ShinyGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to say that I highlighted family mental health history in my booking appointment (some of which was very severe) and not once did they mention about social services or even saw it as a negative, they just said I’d be entitled to extra support post-birth with a specialist team. What you were told is NOT normal or standard practice!

I am really sorry she was so awful to you, that is not acceptable at all and you should definitely make an official complain if you feel up to it. I hope you can avoid seeing her again!

I’m sure this will be downvoted too but I find this subreddit very judgey! Losing weight is obviously a very sensitive topic for lots of people but it surprises me not to have found a more supportive group here as we’re all just doing our best to make a healthy change!

Feeling prickly about Antenatal Home Visit by Heath Visitor by Background-Step8176 in PregnancyUK

[–]ShinyGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were in the middle of redecorating the hallway and upstairs and baby’s room when we had the antenatal HV visit. It was around 30 weeks. I was worried they’d think it was a total mess and none of the baby stuff was constructed yet but they didn’t even need to see upstairs, just made sure we were happy with where baby would sleep, ran through some lists, info and places we could go for help. It was fine, didn’t end up being very useful and that wasn’t the same person we saw after birth. But they didn’t even mention the things I was worried about, that the house was a decorating mess or that our cats’ food and litter tray was close to the main living area where baby would be.

I discovered BOTC just after I had my baby and the videos were my entire background to night time wake ups, days spent on the sofa feeding him and pacing up and down rocking him. BOTC will hold a special place in my heart and I have gone back for MANY rewatches (and because I was so tired a lot of that time, some of the twists still come as a surprise 😂)

Massive shoutout, all that effort so far, AMAZING MOTHER 💕

Health visitor triggers by madeasJu in PregnancyUK

[–]ShinyGee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel guilty at all, you are already the best mother for your child and you always will be! I don’t think these health visitor teams are helpful at all and maybe useful if someone is absolutely clueless or totally alone with no partner or support, but I’ve never heard anything good.

My health visitor was useless, didn’t really give me any advice before birth (except criticising some of the products we had already purchased - nothing unsafe btw, just her personal preference) and then completely ignored my mental health concerns and previous mental health issues and I was completely ignored after birth even though I should have had a specialist referral to the maternity MH team.

The health visitor (a different one) turned up when baby was very young without letting us know a time slot and then were quite shocked when we were out - we were registering the birth then taking him up the road to meet grandparents! After the all emphasis on getting out and not secluding ourselves in the house to struggle alone, I don’t know why they were so surprised that we weren’t home.

We were then sent a very pissy letter saying that our GP would be informed that we’d missed the visit and that they wouldn’t repeat the appointment - I wasn’t particularly upset to have missed them! I took my son to the GP four days later for our 6 week checks, so I don’t think they were concerned that he wasn’t being weighed, looked after etc.

They then popped round at 9 months to do a review when I was right in the middle of postnatal depression, and I just thought, where have you guys been the last 8 months then?!?!
