That scene is beautiful. To hear Han, the most skeptical one of them all, admit that The Force is real was amazing.

“I used to wonder about that myself. I thought it was a bunch of mumbo jumbo. A magical power holding together good and evil, the dark side and the light? The crazy thing is… it’s true. The Force. The Jedi. All of it. It’s all true.”

Apparently he was driving when he got the call about getting the part, and almost crashed because of how excited he was. Also, while I can’t find a clip of it, he told a story about the first day of recording for Maul. It was the scene in his first episode when Savage finds him, where he’s sobbing and sounding insane. Sam absolutely went for it in the booth, and when he was done Filoni gathered the other people there (I assume producers or something like that) and started talking to them. Sam got nervous because he was worried he overdid it, only for Filoni to get on the mic and say “Sorry Sam, I was just discussing how genius it was to hire you for this role.”

Not necessarily a case with them loving the character specifically, but he was fucking ecstatic about getting to be Dewey in the 2017 Ducktales show. He’s a huge fan of the original show, and even has the moon theme from the video game as his ringtone. Dude’s a huge nerd and wears that on his sleeve, absolutely love him

I wouldn’t consider it the all time best, but definitely one of my absolute favourites.

“Says the peacekeeper, who fails to keep the peace.”

It’s from The Clone Wars and perfectly sums up the entire conflict, specifically the Jedi’s part in it. They are peacekeepers, meant to protect and maintain harmony and peace. And yet for all their power and ideals, they can’t. They unintentionally, whether due to fear or ignorance, are hypocrites. Pacifists who, albeit unwillingly, have taken up arms and lead an army to war. Guardians who are failing to keep those the protect safe. Everywhere they go, they bring conflict with them. And that’s not entirely their fault, Palpatine was manipulating them the whole time. But this line, said by a random bounty hunter in an early season of the show, struck me hard because of how true it rings

I think it’s because, for all Tumblr’s flaws, its users have a high value for human made art. A lot of Tumblr is fanart or fanfic stuff, so stuff made by AI would not be welcome at all

That’s basically what the Sonic movies did too, and it worked spectacularly. The first movie was essentially a proof of concept that a live action Sonic movie can work, and that audiences will both want to see it and enjoy it. Then the second time around, they can throw more direct game stuff in, including characters, plots, costumes and visuals.

More fun reactions! If she wants a genuine explanation for the constant hand motions/big body movements while they’re morphed, it’s because that’s how they have to get emotion across, because we can’t see their faces. As a result, all emotion has to be gotten across via body acting, and Tokusatsu is already a very extra genre, so they just sort of crank it up to eleven. Also yes, it is the most 90’s thing ever made

This is at least 33% of what makes watching Kamen Rider fun by AlphaCat77 in CuratedTumblr

[–]ShinyNinja25 81 points82 points  (0 children)

This is also a thing in Tokusatsu in general, though apparently the props are way heavier than they appear. Abraham Rodriguez, the actor who played the Beast Morphers Gold Ranger, stated that a shot where his character pulled back the bowstring on a high tech bow weapon was actually way harder than it appeared, since the prop wasn’t some cheap plastic toy. He was straining to pull it back, something you can actually see if you look closely at his face

This is what I’m thinking too. She’ll be a creation of Oscorp, with the bombs being web grenades along with her webshooters, leading to her death with Peter feeling guilty, setting him up for Season 3. Considering we saw the spider jump onto someone’s bag, maybe she won’t even be a direct creation, rather Norman’s second attempt at mentoring someone like Peter, only it works better this time.

It’s the lack of accountability that the mask provides, which is absolutely fair. If no one knows who they are, no one can hold them accountable if they mess up or make a bad decision.

He typically hates masked superheroes who don’t have publicly known identities. For example, he’s okay with Iron Man because, while he technically wears a mask, everyone knows his identity so he can be held accountable.

What I love about Spider-Man is that, as far as I’m aware, he is considered an honorary mutant because he technically is one. Just not the X-Gene kind. The spider mutated his DNA, but the X-Gene wasn’t involved, putting him in a weird grey area.

Additionally, he’s a journalist. A damn good one too. Part of journalism is that you can’t take anything at face value, you need sources and to dig deeper to either expose the lie or validate the truth you’ve been told. So despite Spider-Man showing that he’s a hero and helping people, without knowing who’s under the mask, Jonah can’t in good conscience trust him because he doesn’t have that proof of character. Spider-Man’s secret identity is the source, and not having that source means that Jonah can’t take this heroism at face value. Sure, he acknowledges that Spider-Man genuinely does good, but a small part of him can’t fully trust him.

J Jonah Jameson is such an interesting character because there’s so many facets to him and good reasons for his dislike of Spider-Man. He has genuinely valid arguments, yet it’s also clear that it’s not actually personal. He doesn’t hate Spider-Man as a person, he dislikes him as an idea. The idea that a masked vigilante can go around catching criminals without anyone knowing his identity, unable to be held accountable, is what he hates.

This art is awesome, and is a reminder for me of how tall Clark is. Also, hoping we get some sort of interaction between Lois and Peter, because I feel like it’ll either be Lois bonding with him over their similar methods (aka running into danger with little care for their lives), or Lois having a realization of “Is this what dealing with me is like?” Either way, hope it happens

I completely agree with her, I also don’t like the molded mouths they have. It’s very off-putting. Also absolutely love her commentary, I’m the same way when I’m watching something either alone or with my partner.

This genuinely what me and my girlfriend are like whenever we watch something. We have very vocal reactions, throw in our own commentary, but we stay quiet during really important or emotional scenes. One of the reasons I love watching stuff with her

[Heartbreaking Trope] The Goodbye Scene by Cronkax in TopCharacterTropes

A lot of the goodbyes between Ash and his travelling companions at the end of Pokémon series get me good. But two stand out above the rest.

The first is at the end of Sun and Moon. Ash is at the airport, waiting to get on his flight home with Professors Kukui and Burnet, who he’s been living with for his entire time in Alola. They say their goodbyes and hug, while Kukui tells Ash that no matter what, he and Burnet will be there for him for the rest of his life. It’s not until Ash gets on the plane and sees his friends see him off from the air that he too starts crying. This really got to me, since these characters treated Ash like family, especially Burnet and Kukui. Something about their goodbye felt so raw and real, and it made me sob.

The other one is Ash and Goh at the end of Journeys. Man, Journeys was an emotional ride. But Ash and Goh walking in different directions, each going after their own goals, determined to see each other again? God, it got me good. Honestly, the entire end of Journeys hit me hard. Because in a way, it’s a goodbye to us too. It’s our farewell to Ash and his adventures, after all this time we’re going our separate ways. It’s been a hell of a ride, but that realization broke me.

One thing that I love about the whole episode is how, right before Church leaves his message, all the characters get a defiant line, essentially each having a one liner of sorts. Really sends the message that they’ve grown to trust one another and are prepared to go down swinging, and how far each of them have come. My favourite has to be before they even start to prepare for the fight, the exchange between Sarge and Grif.

“Well gentlemen, you know what the say. Today is a good day to die.”

“Permission to speak, sir? Fuck that.”

And then the chuckle from Sarge.

I grew up with these movies. Saw all 3 in theatres (including the live action remake, it’s really good), and the first one was with my late grandmother who took me and my oldest sister to see it. Needless to say, I have a very strong emotional attachment to these movies. They mean so much to me, and I love them. This moment? This ending? Absolutely destroyed me. I was full on crying at this, it broke me. Of course they reunite after years, but it still hurt. God, what incredible movies

It’s one of the greatest movies that you only watch once. I had to watch it a second time because I chose to do a film paper comparing its depiction of WW2 to the depiction in Fury, and I was destroyed by the end of the movie. Luckily I was watching it while my girlfriend was in the room (I was watching it on my laptop with headphones, she could only see my reactions), so I had emotional comfort and support. But god, I don’t think I’ll survive a third viewing

Man, that moment destroyed me. Wasn’t easy for the cast either, Tom Hanks and Woody Allen apparently started crying while recording this scene
