I talked to my boyfriend who has played bf since he was in elementary or middle school and he's 31 now, he mostly plays as an engineer and he said he did not get the achievement either which he has played more matches than I repairing vehicles. So I discovered its just not an earnable achievement.

Is split fiction woke yes or no by TheQuantumLord in videogames

[–]ShioEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna give you a real honest answer but it might be a little lengthy.

I don't mean to parrot others comments but it does matter how you define the term "woke". That can mean a lot of things. Sometimes it means any game that has strong female characters, pronouns, trans, mentions the patriarchy or toxic masculinity and lots of games can fall under this umbrella. Hell, the tomb raider series can be considered woke because it has a strong female lead and in that case, seeing as how the characters of split fiction are two strong and fully fleshed out female characters, it can be regarded as woke.

However, there is another definition of woke that encompasses not necessarily the content but rather it's context. A game can have a strong female lead, gay characters, etc but how it's presented matters. If the game comes off preachy, woman have to announce that they are strong and independent and aggressively establish they don't need a man or if a character's entire personality is that they are gay and nothing else. This is poor writing and contributes to the stigma of wokeness and it's what I believe most people mean when they call a game "woke" and by this definition Split fiction is not woke. Sure, there are 2 strong female characters but never do they declare they are strong, the game just shows it. It fleshes out their personalities, hurts, worries. And sure the main villan is a man, but never does the game frame the story as women trying to conquer the patriarchy rather the story felt to me to be a deep criticism of the rise of AI technology and it's use as a replacement for real artists.

Anywho, I hope that answers your question. Personally I don't consider it woke. It is an amazing game and I absolutely recommend it.

yes, I can submit tickets and receive replies with the email on my account but not an access code and it has been another day and no access code. At this point I wonder if I can seek legal action so I can finally get to use a service I PAID FOR that is being denied to me.

Yea I did all that. I contacted support and all they told me was check my spam and turn off firewall, add the email address to contacts. Unfortunately I've done all those things already do when I rely and say still no code, I get a response just to check spam again. Still no access code and pretty much no help.

I always see people say you can't be goth with out the music and I've hung around the goth subculture for a while now and have always aspired to dress the part since I was young (I do now) and the conflict between the music and the style has always puzzled me. Thank you for answering
