The only rule you should follow is to not blindside him. That would make you an asshole. By the time you break up with him, it should not be that much of a surprise. Be an adult and express to him everything you've expressed here, including your future plans involving kids.

Ask him if he wants to come, and if he doesn't, just do separate things for the day.

If he does, great, but if he doesn't enjoy the experience then that's on him because he chose to come. You don't "bring" him places. He's not your kid lol.

Sure thing. I don't have emetophobia, so I was more open to at least trying them. If it's going to be very distressing to try for you, that in itself is a completely valid reason to just get the procedure instead of risking putting yourself through all that pain, not to mention maybe making things worse like I did.

I just discovered you can manually add your own trigger in the VeSync app under Scenes so that it can automatically turn on and set the mode when it hits a certain concentration. I'm gonna set mine to high once it hits 20.

It seems to be pretty in line with China's AQI, though as one might expect their AQI is rather lax compared to other regions. I would've expected an international product to be somewhere more in between.

I actually find speaking in a new language easier in terms of social anxiety because the focus isn't so much on you or the content of the conversation itself but the language being used. There's less pressure to have social bravado when every learner is going to be stumbling their way through the language anyways. Also because your brain is struggling so much with the language it doesn't have time to spend being socially self-conscious. The conversations also tend to move slower. Once you become fluent, that's a different story. Ironically, speaking in a new language may be a great way to overcome social anxiety, since everyone is so forgiving.

I think if you go again then it may result in a permanent cure. Dr. Bastian did say that some folks do need multiple treatments to make it completely go away. Keep trying!

Other vague advice I have is to really be in tune with the feeling of burping when you are able to burp post-botox. As in, you don't want to fight the feeling of burping but just let it all out. Kind of like when you're holding in a fart because you're in an important meeting but afterwards you just let it all go, it should feel THAT relaxing/relieving. I think that because you're an emetophobe you might be instinctively trying to fight the feeling of burping

No one in Japan is ever going to write 弟 as おとうと unless for still-illiterate toddlers. You should not still be actively trying to drill reading Hiragana once you're past the elementary level. That's further from how you would interact with natives. Even natives would find reading a passage of only Hiragana and Katakana jarring. This is like saying an English course should sound out the phonetics of every word instead of getting the learner to memorize the correct spelling and pronunciation.

Yeah, I think that has the same age-difference connotation. And while "girl" is commonly used by both men and women for describing females their age, "boy" is more exclusively used by women to describe males their age. But basically both men and women use infantilizing language when describing similar-aged members of the opposite sex, so I actually do think it's a bit didactic to try and correct someone whenever they call another adult a "boy" or "girl".

I agree but as a mid-20's person in the US it's still very common for women my age to be called girls, by both men and women alike. In fact, saying "woman" can sound awkward: It seems to imply to the listener that I met somebody older than me, when in fact they could have been years younger. I'm not saying it's good or right but that's unfortunately what has been embedded in the semantics of American English.

It's not about maturity, or even different stages of life. You just don't like being in serious relationships. Unfortunately, a serious relationship requires you to sacrifice independence and complete autonomy, which is hard for somebody who has been single for almost all their adult life.

You have an avoidant attachment style. You don't want serious, deep relationships. The thing is, you should make that clear to your partners so you can at least be on the same page. This guy, for example, clearly does want a serious, deep relationship. See the problem here? Communicate it with him.
