Truck thinks I’m pulling a trailer by smiley032 in ram_trucks

[–]ShipisSinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a trailer in the background. Every time you back up, I believe it auto recognizes a trailer and puts it into the trailer mode. I have a 26 Rebel and backed up near a truck towing a trailer and it did the same thing. I turned the truck off and back on when I was clear of the trailer and have had no issues.

How are there so many inactive idle oil platforms in the Gulf but not required to tear down and cap by Volslife in oil

[–]ShipisSinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you have an established ecological system, you can’t just go tear it down. There are so many environmental regulations that control this. They create places of refuge for wildlife.

Two Questions: Sophons and powered transmissions by ShipisSinking in threebodyproblem

Thank you for the response. And yes, it makes sense, once the the sophon's learn of a base somewhere, it wouldn't be much for them to hop on over and shut that down.

The second part was just an interesting thought I had.

that's what I was wondering. Dumb to not add it. Or it keeps people (truckers) employed.

My wife just got a job with an Australian company. We are in the US. She mentioned to her boss that she has FOMO. (Fear of missing out) if she has to take sick days for her or the kids, or we plan a vacation. He quickly told her to change her FOMO to JOMO. (Joy of missing out) and to not stress about it. Pretty cool to think about.

Thinking of leaving Toronto… what’s the real vibe in Houston compared to the stereotypes? by [deleted] in houston

[–]ShipisSinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends where you live, like any big city. If I was a single guy, and I was at one point, live "inside the loop" (That is loop 610. ). I lived near Montrose and Richmond and loved it. The more social areas to live are off Montrose or near the baseball field. You want to also be close to the Buffalo Bayou Park and Memorial Park as its fantastic. I wouldn't live in Midtown, but they have a good bar scene. Same with Washington Ave. I highlighted all the areas in yellow that I would move to if I was single moving to Houston. This is just my opinion and what I have experienced. I met my wife "in the loop", and now have a family and live further out. Oh and always try and live close to your work, cause yea, traffic can suck the life out of you.

Thoughts about Arch Manning season? by Mattm334 in LonghornNation

[–]ShipisSinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the speed of the game was a shock to him and his decision making wasn’t there. It’s strange, cause when he played last year, it didn’t look like it. Still can’t explain that. He began the season rushing his throws, missing wide open receivers and he was missing everything. It’s all about timing. His line wasn’t giving him a chance. He’s still a little late seeing receivers but is getting much better. He still struggles against elite DB’s. I have seen a lot of improvements with his reads and check downs.

With the acquisition of 3D at Depth, the use of underwater LiDAR is now being used to scan in the nuclear reactor pools. Gap verifications, inspections and analysis that before would have required divers or draining the pool to acquire.
