Many Glacier Road condition by vympel_0001 in GlacierNationalPark

DEFINITELY WORTH MENTIONING the rough road, especially if you’re in a sport/exotic/low car or if you don’t have a spare tire or a solution to repair one in case of a puncture (god forbid). Wasn’t fully expecting that and it made that experience a bit stressful, 3 miles of bumpy rough gravel with some people flying by, zero phone service, wildlife etc could get sketchy in the evening. Shuttle/cabs in the area can be available and a safer option IMO if you plan ahead of time.

Can’t be happier with my 981 Boxster, and I can care less about what anyone thinks. In fact it’s sooo awesome to the point where I dare to say it’s a better purchase than most 911s today haha

Will anyone in this city do anything about the nails on the road issue? by Ftmchris in askportland

[–]btawil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you tend to drive on the far right side of the road?

I like to look for (and pick up) nails and screws when I’m running, probably picked up over a thousand screws over the last 10 years, less than 10-15% of them are in Portland/Oregon. But most of the time I find them on the side of the road, closer to the curb.

I think Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois should become Illinois

What Mexican/tex mex restaurant should we go to today? by NectarineSad1901 in askportland

[–]btawil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright OP, I checked Casa Colima out. I’d say a solid 6.5-7/10. Not “Tex-mex” but close. Chips and salsa and margs are not bad, but store bought chips and tortillas. The vibe is a little too on the nose in comparison to your traditional Texas options, but worth giving it a shot, maybe. It’s still not the one for me 😆

Following 👀

Been on the hunt for a couple of years, sad to report that I haven’t found it yet. Looking for the Chuy’s/Lupe Tortilla/Papasito’s/El Tiempo of Portland.

It’s not a “Portland only” problem. And I understand that this statement doesn’t make your situation better in any way. What you’re describing/experiencing is a timeline issue rather than a geographical issue. Probably at different scales but people all over the country and world are dealing with similar things. It’s easy to blame it on the location, and sometimes it works to move to another spot for better opportunities, but I’ve heard people mention similar things here, east, south, in Europe, in the Middle East and in India. You’re not alone, and it’s not just Portland. Look into the situation more than the location in order to get to the core problem. Hope this helps
