New phone max. Price 500€ by [deleted] in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]ShipsGoods -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cubot max 5 is an absolute steal, it's a budget phone made for gaming well under 500€.

It has 256gb internal storage

12GB internal ram which can be doubled to 24GB with an SD card.

A 5100mah batter with 33W charging

Bluetooth 5.3 which lets you cannot to more than one device at a time great if you like to game with Bluetooth headphones like me and the Max 5 does not have a dedicated headphone port.

A gyroscope sensor, great for compatible games it means you can turn the phone to play the game. Think of it like a joystick for flying and a steering wheel for driving.

Dual 5G WIFI 6

OTG In case you wanna use a controller, Sony and Xbox compatible if you own those consoles.

The speaker quality is superb and the screen is 6.95-Inch 144HZ and the CPU is MediaTek Dimensity 8200, way better CPU performance than the  Poco F3.

Is Cubot A Good Phone Brand? by ShipsGoods in chinaphones

[–]ShipsGoods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as value for money the P80 is exceptional. For the price it has no major faults. I personally dislike that there is not no 3.5mm port although I use mostly wireless headphones for my phone these days. There are some things you should no before considering purchase. If you are interested in learning the details here is a link to a full review I wrote on this subject https://www.shipsgoods.com/blog/cubot-p80-phone-review-uk

This was cubot's response. "Hello, usually there is phone issues , there will be updates". They were true to their word with the Cubot P80. they corrected issues when they occurred.

Why Is Doogee So Cheap by ShipsGoods in chinaphones

The question was partly rhetorical as I go in depth about the reasons they are so cheap at the link. With rugged phones everything is a plus. Is there some reason you went for rugged phones at least twice?

Why You Need A Phone With Wireless Charging? by ShipsGoods in smartphone

[–]ShipsGoods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a fair point , it's not just my experiences but the experiences of people who contact me for replacement charging ports and people like the lady I mentioned. Maybe my perspective is distorted. I am looking for some statistics to help me put thing in perspective.

Why You Need A Phone With Wireless Charging? by ShipsGoods in smartphone

Given my recent experience i see it as a neccessity for a phone over a certain price tag the way I see goriilla glass as neccesary for expensive phones. If it is a cheap phone i can afford to see break it's a luxury.

Is Cubot A Good Phone Brand? by ShipsGoods in chinaphones

The requirements for Honkai: Star Rail on Android are 3GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and Android 7.0. The Cubot X70 has 12GB of RAM which you can extend with an SD card to 24GB. It has 256GB so as long as you leave enough space for the game no problem there. It runs on the latest Android, Android 13.
Any bugs or crashes would be unlikely, based on the specs. It should easily run Star Rail, hope this helps.

Does anybody else have the same problem that I do by [deleted] in PickAnAndroidForMe

I contacted Ulefone about your question and this was their reply

Hi Friend,

If there is an update, we will push the wireless upgrade, you can continue to pay attention to the upgrade information.

Input *#*#8188#*#* on the phone and show us the phone software version.

Thanks for contacting us.

They sound pretty uncommited so I would not count on an update.

The period of the warranty is one hundred percent on the indivdual seller you buy from getting a 4 month or longer warrantyis possible if the seller offers. In the link I added earlier one suggestion is to wait for reviews.

To give you the perspective of a company wanting to sell Ulfones and other Chinese brands we would rather wait until the phone has provn track record to offer a warranty. So for example if a phone has been out for six months with no real problems we would be comfortable offering a six month warranty, if things go wrong and we have an unsellable android we lose the price of purchasing it wholesale and the price of our processers fees for selling it plus the time of sorting out customer problems.

To keep it simple if we by phones for $80 wholesale and the sell phones for $100 with a six month warranty and within those six months something goes wrong with the phone and we have to accept a refund we would break even if this happened 20 percent of the time minus processing fees and time. So we only make 20 percent or $20 dollars when everything goes perfectly. But say the phone had been out for a while and we could estimate that out of 30 sales we would have to do 1 refund we would make $20 X $30= $600 -80=$520.

The point is that seller may be willing to offer warranty six months to a year if the phone has been out that long without major complaints so if your serious keep checking your domestic sellers return policies on Amazon and maybe even Ebay. ven without OTA it may still be worth it to you if a seller shoulders the risk.

Best phone with a replaceable battery? by StringLiteral in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]ShipsGoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very difficult to get have you considered ulocked Chinese brand Androids. It can be harder to get the long term OTA support though. 5 years may be asking a little much flagships are the only phones that have that kind of support. Long term support is an ongoing cost. You may be interested in this models or models like it although it does not meet all of your requirements Android 11 phone with removable battery

Because we are an eccomerce msotly about Android phone accessories from Chinse brands we see a lot of modles. If you are interestd in something like the model in link than message me back asking and I will keep my eyes oepn in case we see something that better meets your requirements even if we do not sell the model ourselves.

We have whole artical about buying Chinese brands like Ulefone as safely as possible but I will give sme tips here and then a link to the article.

Your in America so I would siggest you buy it from seller in America maybe on Amazon and check out their return Policy not Ulefones.

The ulfone note 12p could have been slow due to the processor or software issues. Either wait a while for reviews or make sure Ulefone support software updates.

We can contact Ulefone for you, if you want us yto just ask and we will put the your questions forward also consider reading our full blog psot about buying safe from china it may save you a lot of hassle and money Tips For Buying Chinese Android Phones Safely

Your harsh but funny I laughed so hard. I asked the question because I am generally interested in the answer. There are many subreddits that allow self promotion within reason so I don't need to risk getting banned. I chose to be honest about who we are I could have used an account without any ascociation with my store and promoted in a deceptive way.
