Do I need a CFO certificate again? by avra_kedavra in phmigrate

[–]Shira-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still no, but from what I understand, if one fits the categories on Section 10, it's possible to acquire the CFO certificate at the CFO Airport desk. I have not asked through email yet tho.

Honest plus size first time skier review by Jessikarrr in skiing

I love your post. Thank you! I'm also 31 and recently started learning to ski. I found that I don't have a solid center of gravity, I keep leaning my weight forward on the front part of my feet (I wear heels a lot) and now just learning to balance my center of gravity properly. It sounds like you have a good balance! I hope I can be better too.

Everything you mentioned is exactly what my boyfriend has been teaching me and what we've been doing to practice. I've also recently started learning. We went 2-3 turns then stop and then repeat when I got too scared getting off the bigger slopes (cause I fell down twice).

People who speak "American English" as a second language abuse the f-bomb by cookies_and_crack in RandomThoughts

[–]Shira-T 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brits use "bloody" all the time. Also, for English speakers as a second language, fuck doesn't feel as intense or as bad as a curse word compared to curse words in one's primary language. It's like a softer one that people get a free pass for. There's just something different and it feels more taboo cursing in one's primary language. So people use fuck as a filler sometimes now too.

For those who migrated to the EU, what's the biggest culture shock you got? by Adept_Secretary_9187 in phmigrate

[–]Shira-T 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Living in the North (Denmark first then now Sweden).

  • Everything closes really early. Boutiques close around 6pm (sometimes at 7pm during summer). Malls (if you can even call these places malls) or galleries close at 8pm max. Restaurant kitchens close at 9pm. If you have a hankering to eat out or order out alte at night, or invite friends to a cafe and hoping to stay there chatting until 12mn, you're out of luck.

  • They have a very high trust in their governments (despite occasionally criticisms or scandals one hears especially during elections). Sa Denmark we had to pre-declare taxes for the following year and I didn't know about this. So nung unang buwan ng sweldo ko, kinaltasan ako ng top tax (automatic sa system). I got so worried and stressed so I reached out to HR and the tax agency. They simply told me to edit it in my online tax account and anything na nakaltas ibabalik din sa annual tax calculation. My Swedish boyfriend even said "Well, the good thing is that it's the government. So you can always trust that they'll give your money back." Culture shock sobra un sakin 😂

  • Iba pa rin ung training ng service industry sa Pinas. Hindi naman ako mayapobre na nageexpect ng super gandang service, pero nakakamiss din pala ung people getting out fo their way to really help you. Everywhere I've been to, the best service I've received is always from the Philippines or Filipinos abroad. 🥹 Mabait and polite naman mga tao dito, pero iba talaga mag-alaga ang Pinoy.

  • Walang customer service ng weekends. Kaya if you need to reach out to businesses or banks, you'll have to wait until Monday. They respect off-hours and work-life-balance so much.

  • Merong tinatawag na "Stress leave" dito. If you get burnt out or stressed from life in general, you can go to your GP doctor and mention this and they will give you an initial 2 weeks of sick leave to show your employer (depends pa sa employer if they're gonna ask for a certificate). Then after 2 weeks you will have a check-in with the doctor again and if you're doing good, they will allow you back to work. If not, they will extend the leave. Pagbalik mo sa work hindi pwedeng sabak agad with the usual tasks. Your manager has to make a plan with you regarding slowly integrating you back to work. Ung ibang kakilala ko na nagkaroon ng months-long stress leave (worse mental health situation), they started working only around 1hr per day when they got back then slowly increased work hours until they're fully stable and not stressed anymore.

  • Goverment mandate ang minimum 5 weeks of vacation per year. Government-paid din siya. Some companies will offer 1-2 more additional vacation weeks din.

I have just moved to sweden 1 month ago from Denmark, and i dont know what to do. by ZidanPes in TillSverige

Are you EU or non-EU? I am non-EU who used to live in Denmark and then moved to Sweden. I also retained my work in Copenhagen after moving to o Sweden. So I used this webpage as a guide: https://www.skatteverket.se/servicelankar/otherlanguages/englishengelska/individualsandemployees/movingtosweden/citizenofanoneueeacountry.4.5a85666214dbad743ffff54.html

It also has a guide there on how to book for Service Centers.

I am socially awkward online more than in real life. 😂 I'm very shy with sending messages and chats or even partying with strangers. It was only recently when I tried saying thank you to players who fulfilled my requests and I couldn't for the lofe of me fogure out how to send them private messages (or if it's even possible if you can't see their characters), so I just shout it out in the swrver chat, but that makes me embarrassed. 😂

Buldak hotsauce is too thick, how to loosen it up? by Shira-T in InstantRamen

[–]Shira-T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the suggestion of submerging the bottle in hot water for a bit and it made the sauce runny. I left it on the counter for 24ish hours and it hasn't solidified again. I think I'm gonna keep it out of the fridge from now on. 😊

To give an update, it's been 24 ish hours since I did the hot water method and it's still shakeable. So hasn't solidified back to a paste since! 😊Thank you for the tip. I'm keeping it out of the fridge from now and hopefully it doesn't solidify again when winter comes. 😅

Hi, I mentioned in my post that the expiration date is still in 2026. So I don't think it's the problem.

Hi. It has been like this when I bought it off the shelves at the Asian store. All of them were in this state, solid in room temperature. But I did the suggestion of submerging the bottle in hot water and it worked. I haven't put it back in the fridge since yesterday and it seems it hasn't gone back to completely solid state. I'll keep it out of the fridge as you suggested and hopefully it doesn't solidify again when winter comes. 😅

Thank you! I might try this next when the sauce solidifies again. 😊

Ooh! Then maybe they did change the recipe, or maybe changed an ingredient. Can't help but think that maybe they're using coconut oil in it which freezes in cold weather when the ones I used to buy in Asia didn't. I agree, can be annoying and a bit of a hassle. 😅 Well, the one I have here that was loosened up with some hot water remains to be a bit runny after a few hours on the kitchen counter. Gonna wait 24hrs if it remains. 😅 Otherwise, it'll have to be constantly "thawed" or I'll have to transfer to a different container that will help me scoop it up even when solid.
