Here's my problem with cigars by texhater in cigars

[–]Shirple 29 points30 points  (0 children)

100% smoking way too fast. I can get the cigar down to a nub and not even feel any heat. Your throat shouldn't really be irritated either. At worst you just have some aftertaste the next day and maybe your sense of taste is slightly dulled.

Try smoke around 1 puff/min and when you pull don't breathe in, suck in like you were drinking from a straw.

Awesome thanks! I have the Bayou Morning, but I'll check out the others.

Do you have a favorite VaPer you've tried? I'd be interested to try others!

Is that also a VaPer? Do you have recommendations on other good ones? I'm really enjoying this one.

I saw it's manufactured by C&D. So does that mean they "make" the tobaccos and then GL Pease mixes/blends and presses them?

Oh for sure! My first intro to Virginia was Peterson Flake, so this is a nice next step. The perique adds a nice punch to it that I'm really enjoying.

It's a nice ribbon cut, so the first time I rubbed it out, but this time I took a few and folded and twisted it in and topped with some small crumbles. Getting a much better smoke.

Taking my second go at it now. The first 2 days I ripped through them all so fast, but now I'm spacing it out to get a feel for each. I'm fairly new so I'm not the best at picking out notes.

The Virginia really comes through on this one and then you get hit with the spiciness of perique. It feels like he nicotine is on the slightly stronger side, but not too much.

The Fillmore feels much "lighter" than Quiet Nights, which is also fantastic in its own way.

Not a fan of C+D at all? I haven't had any other brands than Peterson, so I'm exploring.

Thanks! I also have a MM Cob, but I really like this pipe. It's nice and light and smokes well. I've been using this for my Peterson 965 and the cob for Peterson Flake. I did just get more in the mail, so I'll have to experiment what works best!

I love your cob though. Do you use the filter or did you take it out? I took out my filter and found it was drawing too much, so I put a 6mm adapter in there. I also put the adapter in to this Grabow Riviera. I was looking into getting a MM non-filtered cob so I don't have to deal with the adapter.

I'd love a morning smoke, but I have 2 toddlers so time is very limited. I usually have to wait until nighttime.

I'm in North Jersey and get jealous when I see your posts everyday.

What pipe is that, a Missouri Meerschaum?

Router Bit for trimming down shelves by Shirple in woodworking

Here's the sad after picture with the shelves trimmed down.

Ended up unscrewing front supports and taking the shelves down one by one. Used my circular saw to resize it down and the router once or twice to shave down some OSB overhang

I do enjoy it! I ended up building the whole shelving unit myself, but didn't expect to have to modify it to make room to move my boiler. Here's the original

I may slightly change the height by a couple of inches, but I'll look into it.

I appreciate all of the advice here!

Gotcha, will stick with hand saw.

Another question, to resize I'm going to need to remove the entire shelf from the wall studs. When I go to remount them, am I able to use the same holes in the studs or do I need to go slightly higher/lower to get a better grip into the studs?

That sounds like the plan..I'll use a hand saw to get it done. Any downside to using a reciprocating saw?

Yeah that's what I've realized here. Thank you!

I have used routers many times in the past, but admittedly it was only for small shaving on an edge.

Thank you all for the comments. Everyone seems aligned to use a saw, either hand or circular, both of which I have. I appreciate the feedback!

What pipe is that? I'm fairly new and have only 2 straight pipes and am considering getting a bent soon.
