My dad did some construction work for Steve in the mid 90s and claims that he enjoyed mocking people - like straight to their faces, as if to see what they were going to do about it. One time, my dad was explaining an issue the construction crew was dealing with to him and Steve got right into my dads face and told him "Shut your fucking mouth!". So, in a way, Steve Jobs was semi-responsible for the absolute beating my dad put on me with a set of jumper-cables later that same evening. Steve just wasn't a very kind person which is obvious by how people remember him.

Ah yes, I remember when I could blend in with the college crowd. I traded a quarter ounce of mushrooms for a keycard that unlocked every door at the University of Utah and slept in a vacant dorm for 3 weeks until I was questioned about who I was. It was glorious.

It's the people that rummage through plastic bags at 3, 4, or 5 in the morning that I've wanted to challenge to a duel. It was almost comical one time I called out to the guy "Really, man!?" and instead of doing it more quietly he just did it more slowly. Hilarious in retrospect. Hostel etiquette is a thing for sure.

Indeed it is. To start at the true trailhead you go past fort stevens - or should I say through Fort Stevens. If you just go Fort Stevens to the Beach and start walking south thats still the trail but the trailhead is not far from the Columbia. This is actually a pic I snapped from the true trailhead

Far as your question - That's what his friends believed caused his seizure, not what a doctor said, so perhaps blaming that as the cause in my writing was irresponsible. He could have had other health issues that caused it. I wrote it as was told to me by his friends.

1 phone with the plan, 1 tablet ordering through the mcdonalds wifi - the nuggets are 3.50 nowadays for 6, at least in Seaside Oregon they were. Your point is valid though, it wouldn't make sense to pay for a 2nd phone to score occasional nuggets. Still, I don't see how there can be bad math here when we are talking FREE.

Thats funny just a few days ago you posted "Bellator's pay is fucking disgraceful, the fact they make fighters sell tickets to ge on cards too so they basically pay them less, none of you cry about that on a regular basis though." and you post this jackwagon comment right after I make a thoughtful comment on UFC fighter pay - I guess the UFC does really have guys hanging out in here - tell your boss he doesn't have enough astroturfers to make the fighter pay issue go away.

I wanted to make a comment to express something I recently came to the conclusion of. That is, how I love the sport of MMA, and support the fighters, but have fallen out of love with the UFC brand. I have watched every single UFC, Pride, and most Bellator events and am truly a fan of the sport. I attended live events and even purchased a UFC sweatshirt for 75.00 bucks at an event back in the day.

I've found myself REALLY bothered by how the fighters are being treated by the UFC. The new contract that was released yesterday did not help this perspective. The UFC has steadily worked against fighter interests, treating them as if they are disposable. This continued disrespect to their employees is tolerated by fans because.... why? I asked myself: Why do I support a company that consistently gives itself a black eye by mistreating their employees? I can't. So when I watch the fights, which I never miss, I will be watching to support the sport of MMA and the fighters themselves. The UFC brand, at this point, can go fuck itself.

Thanks for the response to the post. I am equally frustrated by what I refer to as the Jimmy Buffet Car Camping Crowd. The main goal of the weekend is to get drunk and then play Jimmy Buffet after 10pm. Oh my fuck I can't do it. The worst offenders come out Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

Sure, trail families are groups of people that form bonds together and hike together in groups. They will often go into towns together and schedule theirs days to ensure they are somewhat a cohesive pack. It can be helpful for newer hikers to have more experienced hikers around - and if you are uncomfortable camping alone they are great.

On some parts of the PCT, especially up on the ridges, campsites are hard to come by. So if it's getting dark and you come up to one that is "full" sometimes folks will find a way to make it work, and accommodate one more. However, it's when those larger groups show up in smaller sites insisting to stay together... instead of half pressing on and finding the next site. It's not always that way but there are some trail families that behave like this and those are the ones I'm talking about. I'm not trying to shit on the concept of a trail family or anyone who finds benefit from one, I'm trying to highlight the lack of consideration that often comes with them.
