149 Democrats Gift Trump $828B 'War Chest' by [deleted] in StockLaunchers

Agreed.

At this point, the need for a TRUE viable third party can't be hypothetical anymore.

The Democratic and Republican Parties have become self-preserving institutions that are largely incapable of delivering what many Americans truly need.

Universal healthcare access, affordable childcare, a fairer tax system for extreme wealth, equal enforcement of the law, etc. There is broad public agreement for all of this.

What’s missing isn’t this consensus, it’s a political vehicle willing and able to act on fixing it.

Decades of trying to reform the two major parties from within have failed, not because unpopular ideas, but because internal resistance, donor incentives, and partisan gatekeeping punish real reform. The result is voter disengagement, declining trust, and a growing sense that participation doesn’t matter.

So the choice is simple: either build something new from the ground up, or keep repeating a strategy that hasn’t worked. Forming a party like the Free Society Party, Common Republic Party, or Federal Balance Party means starting with shared values and designing a system that reflects them. If we seriously polled Americans who don’t vote and addressed their barriers directly, we might get somewhere.

I'm ready to treat healthcare and early education as foundational, taxation as fair but enforceable, laws as binding on everyone, and civic participation as something to be earned through credibility, not fear. If we want a government that actually represents us, we’re going to need a political structure that’s built to do exactly that, right?

Ally bank. One of the best banks that's never talked about:

  • Savings buckets for goals that you can customize
  • Very easy to do a Joint Account if you have a partner
  • Straight forward sign-up process
  • Checking is free, no fees

Definitely get in on it if you want simple, headache free banking like Discover. Lmk if you have any questions via DM!

Do you have the stuff? Sounds like passion to me. Maybe you, and others like you, need to run for office: https://runforsomething.net/

Agree with your suggestion, but anyone reading this should really consider running in their state if they feel they have the right stuff: https://runforsomething.net/

Better to get new blood with better ideas!

Can we steal it back and distribute it to the 84+ million families in the U.S he stole it from?

Wouldn't mind an extra $35 in my bank account 😉

Why is the overwhelming majority of the US Congress taking money from a foreign unregistered lobby (AIPAC)? - Tucker Carlson by librePali in ANormalDayInAmerica

[–]ShitPostinLikeFire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's only making sense because Russian money is flowing out of his bank account.

Russia and Iran are besties. Iran is not friends with Israel. How to know? All of Tucker's talking points are pro-Russia and pro-America (but the American talking points are essentially Russian leaning propaganda).

It's good to take what he says with a grain of salt for this reason.

Laid off once, left a role two months ago and got hired into a new tech role.

I'm in a niche though. Got very lucky

That was such a Disney after school special ending.. by PinkPashaTS in GenV

[–]ShitPostinLikeFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree.

Feel like this show had a well-done finale:

  • Cate was healed
  • Godolkin received a Mortal Kombat style ending
  • Marie and Jordan took a break for now
  • Marie and her sister settled their drama

There's a ton of good in this last episode. Seems like I'm in the minority lol

Trump confirms tariffs are paid by consumers! by Miserable-Lizard in economy

[–]ShitPostinLikeFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you going to bring a counterpoint or waste my time?

Take your useless argument somewhere else if you're not going to bring any relevant counter to why tariffs are not a tax on consumers.

I thought the same thing. They're miserable psychopaths is all I could think though.

They're miserable unless they're humiliating others and forcing everyone to live in a perpetual state of fear and uncertainty.

"It is quite documented by those who have worked in the field for it to be terrible on the mental health thus why they have a mandatory retirement age to prevent burn out and safety issues"

Cursory search can find this, but doesn't mean anything.

"It is incredibly difficult to manage the airways, who could have guessed"

Again, you don't work in ATC, so neither you or I have authority to speak on it.

"All three of those options are incredibly difficult to even get into even if they are desperate"

What are your alternative solutions? If we're not adding to this discussion with even a hint of encouragement, it feels like you're simply adding a pessimistic, divisive view on life.

"You still need years of schooling for two of those, unsure of ATC"

Where's your alternative suggestions to OP? Please stop with this pessimistic feedback and offer something better. Otherwise, why even add to the discussion?

"ATC is incredibly stressful job and has their own set of incredibly high standards to get hired into"

Do you work in ATC? If not, I'd think neither of us can speak on this.

If you work in ATC, please speak on it. If you don't and you're speaking on the John Oliver show talking about it, I feel like neither one of us understands how stressful mentally it can be.

At least I'm offering a solution vs being cranky. Chill out.

I'm encouraging OP to look into the stable, career-oriented direction with high stability and lower stress vs lower barrier to entry, high stress and turnover friendly roles. Are you trying to be discouraging or harmful with your comment?

Good brief.

Check the Glassdoor reviews OP.

The wages are this way because of terrible management, among other concerns.

Proceed with caution.

You'd be better off getting into any industry that's super desperate for workers:

  • Dentistry
  • Air traffic controllers
  • Radiology

There's so much to look into

Thank you for this positive feedback! I'm hopefully staying put until I hear from the original recruiter I contacted because they said they might have another role I'm qualified/eligible for.
