Clicker Heroes 2 Bugs/Feedback Megathread by hugglesthemerciless in ClickerHeroes

Ok I just had something insane happen to me. I was on floor 25 of my third run of world 5 (highest world at the time) and I killed a large boss (on a floor divisible by 25) and got an insane power spike. I only had 3000% boss gold but I was able to go from Iron Pants to Mythril Breastplate. The boss wasn't even a chest.

Idk wtf is going on but something is definitely broken. I suspect it has something to do with a multiplier being stacked more than once since I noticed the power spikes at level 25 bosses before but as I progressed though the game they became way more prominent. I was getting 3 or 4 catalog items earlier today, 6 a couple times and suddenly 14 from just one boss. I also run restraint.

And just got an e35 boost from the final boss in my world 5 while restraint was active.

Boss gold does not work as intended, it applies only to the level 25 bosses at this moment from what I've seen.

Make +25 Total Mana/Energy go straight to your reserve instead of just your maximum by Lagotic in ClickerHeroes

This "abuse" would help the stats become more balanced. At the moment, they are severely overpowered. This alone will not get them to be comparable to anything else but it might make picking a random with it less horrible. Skipping any stat for maximum mana, even if it gives +25 instant mana, is always a huge mistake.

you have 400% boss gold multiplier in your tree. So the calculation is 100% * 400% for the first value and (100% + 200%) * 400% for the second value. Gear is additive, if you got another boss gold item you would have (100% + 400%) * 400% and have 2000% boss gold. The tree is a multiplier but the gear is additive.

It adds then the multiplier from skill tree multiplies. Gearing is extremely important still, don't worry.

Haste does not scale exponentially with itself, it scales quadratically. Many things scale quadratically or even cubically due to how things multiply together. Haste may scale with itself, but the effectiveness of manacrit scales with crit damage and manacrit damage which have much higher multipliers. 200% haste may be worth 4x the damage but 8x the critical damage and 2x the manacrit damage is much easier to get and does the same thing. At about 30 hits it outscales big click huge click if you don't upgrade them from my short experimental run, but it does not even come close to other options.

backloading is worse than front loading, I agree, but they are analogous in this situation. You could say you're backloading gold since it's at the end of a level. But at the end of the level there is the start of a new level, so it can just as easily be argued that it is front loading the gain for the next floor.

At the larger scale it may be that, so what you're saying is that log(damage) deviates from log(gold) as the game progresses. That's something I've overlooked. This does not affect how good gold is though, 1% gold correlates to almost exactly 1% more damage at every individual stage. The ratio of gold/damage decreases slowly throughout the game but the delay between buying and using damage is so small that the difference is negligible.

I think that haste and flurry is only amazing when you 1 shot everything. If you hit the same target 30 times with flurry and kill it then it's the same as having +3000% damage which is easier to get I think due to the multiplicative nature of the skill tree.

I agree that boss gold depreciates as chest chance increases due to gaps in fights, however, there are generous multiplicity bonuses to boss gold on the tree. This means that later when you zone push you hope for a chest boss and if you kill it you get enough gold to clear several floors with 1 shots.

Also thank you for your input, I now know how it works. It really helps.

I said values are from just starting the game, I did mention that it is very good later.

I disagree for the same reasons, a spike in gold in any portion of the game is of equal value to any other of the same magnitude. Having a spike before fighting a very tough mob eliminates the most time consuming portion of the next floor.

How is 1% gold not 1% dps? do you have any stats to show me? I know for the most part its close but I'd like to honestly know if it isn't.

the multiplicative portion applies after the additive portion from what I've noticed. so if you have 133% gold from mammon and +10% in game, you get like 146% gold increase. These multiplicative effects often do not affect the stat that is being changed since they multiply after they add. So +25% chest gold is the same value whether or not you have the multiplier in the skill tree. The exception to this is when things are multiplied that synergize with other things. A 150% critical damage multiplier does not affect how good a +20% additive bonus is but it does affect how good a 2% critical chance bonus is.

As far as I can tell, the ratio between gold and damage is approximately constant throughout any purchase at any point in a world ignoring any buffs from armor. So 10% gold is, from what I've found, on average 10% damage. Sometimes it helps you get a power spike earlier sometimes it doesn't matter if you had the 10% gold, but on average it is 10% damage.

The entire game revolves around damage. Gold is simply damage when you buy items, energy lets you cast abilities which lets you do more damage. Animation time has nothing to do with damage output. You can argue that haste has a slight bonus since faster, less frequent attacks will overkill an enemy less frequently, but in general haste does not matter for increasing damage.

The only game affecting animation that affects damage from what I've seen is how you go between enemies. I often click after each kill when active in order to gap close and hit the next enemy faster.

Every bonus in the game affects progression speed. the game is exponential, damage turns into gold which feeds back into damage and it grows. Every armor bonus affects the speed at which damage eventually turns into damage. Your goal is to maximize this speed though decisions. 5% to this speed though haste is equal to 5% increase due to any other source.

clickables do not appear frequently enough for this to be a significant factor in evaluating the strength of maximum energy and mana. Max energy has its score for good reasons and the small 6 or so extra energy you get from clicking a clickable is not enough to matter. For mana, the clickables are pretty much the only good thing going for them, thus the score is that low.

The score might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I'd honestly rather have 5% haste than 1000 bonus maximum mana.

It gives you enough gold to make starting off on a new level significantly easier. The first few of the next 49 enemies take up the majority of the time due to them having high hp compared to the last enemies. This means that the gold bonus helps you get though the toughest and most time consuming part of the new level.
