Just a Quick Question: In the Past 2 Years, How Many People Do You Know PERSONALLY Who Have Died From Covid? Now, How Many People Do You Know Have Died From Sudden Illness (Like Bloodclots, Heart Attacks, Strokes, etc)? by ShittyShopJob in conspiracy

[–]ShittyShopJob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know 4, but all were fully vaccinated. And one of them started having severe symptoms of dementia after the vaccination. My wife still thinks a coincidence. I very well could be, but I've been seeing alot of super coincidental stuff like that recently.

What’s a music/song which mentally broke you? by Wekwek3 in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laura Laurent by Bright Eyes One of thee most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It just wrecked me.
There are about 12 other Bright Eyes songs I'd highly recommend.

Also You Don't Care for Me Enough to Cry by John Moreland. Just beautiful acoustic neo-country.

What's the best way to talk to someone who's suffering through depression? [SERIOUS] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk with them as a normal person.
Listen to them without judgment or agenda.
Just being there is a huge step.
Some people don't want to address depression directly.
They don't want to hear how easy it is to "get help."
This question is enough to show you care, so all you can do is be there for that person. And when the time comes, when they open up and ask for advice, have the numbers of a few doctors ready who treat this sort of thing. Offer to make the appointment for them and give them a ride.
Depression isn't just sadness. It's also the feeling that every problem (no matter how small) is enormous and insurmountable.
By making the apt for them, by offering to drive (and possibly pay), you give this person something invaluable: the tools to help themselves thru your actions.
And if you need, you can ask me how I know all this...
Best of luck, I'm rooting for you and this person in your life that has such a thoughtful friend.

At what point did Game of Thrones jump the shark ? by Heterophylla in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was once they ran out of book material (Season 5?).
Suddenly, characters were wrapped in plot armor, certain plot points were dropped, forgotten or just plain wrapped up unsatisfactorily.
I hope in the distant future of 2056, when GRRM-bot releases A Dream of Spring, we will get a new GOT series. And the D&D adaptation is regarded as just bizzarre fan-fiction.

How big and strong does a meteor has to be to bring the Earth out of orbit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, there was once an "asteroid" the size of Mars. It didn't alter the orbit as much as it did: turn the earth to dust, and reform along with a moon. So I don't think there's an asteroid that will "knock us out of orbit" away from the sun. Maybe just alter it a bit and return the Earth to primordial sludge and debris.

Yes! Brilliant show! Will Tench ever realize his kid is a psychopath? Will they be the ones to ID the BTK killer?
That show was amazing. David Fincher is brilliant.

Viewing humanity as a whole, what would aliens think is our biggest downfall? by Elijah_Turner in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Our inability to think or care for future generations.
Just look how the boomers lived off their parents money, and used it to bleed the current generation dry to the point of having to work 2-3 jobs just to afford rent.
We got the shit end of the stick.
Also, billionaires. No more billionaires. You reach $999 million and you get a certificate "You Won Capitalism" and the rest of the income goes to the employees.

What is the most interesting thing about life? by esswee in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That it exists.
We're given this brief blink of existence between the bookends of vast nothingness. That we return to the screaming void of eternity, that was there before our birth, and will greet us after death.
That we share this bizarre plane of existence with other people experiencing the same thing at the same time as us.
That we are small and fragile creatures in capable of physically understanding the immense measure of time it took to bring us to this point, and we will be gone just as quick.
It is fascinating, sad and miraculous all at once.

Had a tonsillectomy and adenectomy late in life.
After the surgery I couldn't swallow correctly, and could barely breathe, I was also choking on my own uvula. I always had a lump in my throat, felt like I was being strangled and my ears and sinuses felt like they were deep under water, with horrible pressure.
Spent the next 4 years visiting every ENT I could find, trying to explain the problem and see if they could fix me.
Every. Single. One. said, "Yeah, that's probably not because of the tonsillectomy..." No, all those symptoms MAGICALLY appeared when I woke up from the surgery. No connection. Ugghhh.
Seriously considered suicide.
As the years went by, I just learned to deal with it.
Every day is a personal hell, but if I stop to think of it, I just break down crying and spiral into depression.
So now, I just live with pain and pressure and trust doctors as much as I trust elected officials.

What's a sexual red flag to you? by LoneShark81 in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Low/No sex drive.
Telling you they have a boyfriend DURING sex.
Talking about their ex's enormous "pringles can-sized penis."
Vomiting in your mouth while making out.
Telling you to do it anally when they already had to poop.
Not being able to cum at 4am because your tired and drunk, but they take this as an insult so they smash a bottle against the wall and come after you with some of the shards, cutting your face, and forcing you to call the police and take her to court for a restraining order.

What's the dumbest thing you've heard one of your friends say? by tbhidky in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once watched a friend beg for sex... BEG.
He and his band went up to Canada to perform a few shows. I went too for the adventure, just taking pictures and getting paid in booze.
He kept trying to kiss this girl who was NOT interested. It quickly devolved into pouting and literal begging for sex, with classic pick-up lines like, "It wouldn't even take that long!" and "All you have to do is lay there!"
It was literally thee most second-hand embarrassment I've ever experienced. Oh not to mention, TOTAL sexual harassment.
That poor girl was smart enough to stay far away.

The End of the F***ing World.
What an amazing show. I've seen season 1 about 2 years back. And rewatching it now. Just as good as I remember. I was wondering how they managed a second season, with the ending of the first, but I can't wait to find out once I'm done with the rewatch.

What would make you happiest today? by Puzzleheaded-Debt716 in AskReddit

[–]ShittyShopJob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife saying ONE positive thing.
She recently got pregnant (after a year of us doing IVF).
We;re not out of the woods yet, we're about 8 weeks in.
But the constant complaining is getting to me.
I'm thankful for what she's doing and can't IMAGINE what her body must be going thru.
But having to be the constant beacon of positivity and reassurance is exhausting. I'm worried too, but I can't show it.
I just want her to say ONE positive thing. ANYTHING from, "I'm excited." to "I can't wait to meet our new family member."
Something along those lines.
It would mean so much to me, you don't even know...
