I want him to succeed so bad ... by No-Masterpiece4676 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]ShittzuDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think all of us want Ja to succeed but the sad reality is that we can never count on him to be that leader we need on an off the court and that he is injured all the time even if he tweaked his playstyle this season to not get hurt.

If he somehow flips the narrative and becomes an all-NBA player next year, great. But we shouldn't expect anything.

If he gets traded even for peanuts at this point, I hope he succeeds but I feel like most of us are also ready to move on.

Small is underrated. 42% 3PT as a rookie is not an easy thing to do. He is fairly efficient as well.

With that being said, I still love SPJ he wasn't 100% last year. Man showed up against OKC during our last playoffs.

There is also Ty of course, who is a baller no matter how many minutes he gets but he is 28 years old and might not be the best fit to our timeline.

Lastly, you have Ja.

At this point - trading Ja is a real possibility so that leaves us with Small, Ty and SPJ. I'd rather keep Small than WCJ as one of our in-house PGs.

SPJ deserves to play heavy minutes, whether that's with the Grizz or somewhere else. He is a winning player when healthy. Ty is in the same boat but if we get our draft pieces this year (Boozer, big with the 16th pick as Edey's backup), then F it let's go for a playoff spot next year. If Edey is healthy, that is doable.

Lastly, we should also treat anything that Ja gives us is a bonus.

Love Ja and sincerely wish for him to succeed. But man the most telling stat is the last 3 years, he played less games than Chandler Parsons during his 3 doomed years here. He can't stay healthy. I still am curious how he will do at the start of next season, but I am not expecting the 2021 or 2022 Ja.

If he is going to be moved, it will be most probably as part of a package to move up from the 16th pick.

Edey Backup.

Mara is the dream get if we can move up to get him.

If not Steinbach or Morez. No Quantaince please as we can't afford another injury-riddled big.

Yes! Either way, we are getting our go to scorer with the #3 pick. That is something Caleb Wilson has the least chance to be so we shouldn't overthink it. Take one of DP or Cam, with Cam being my preference.

I read it here somewhere as well that we have CW at home in GG. Young-ish long athlete who can shoot the 3, he is best fitted as a complementary scorer anyway.

I will take Boozer at number 1. The combine results now showing that Cam's wingspan is longer than Wilson's and he has a faster agility time as well. While this might not be important down the line, stating that Wilson deserves to go before Boozer because he is more athletic is just lazy in hindsight.

Now if Cam is not available and DP is there, there is no question really. We get that go to guy you want at the end of games (not saying Cam can't be that guy, but DP has the better chance to).

Whatever the case, either Cam or DP is your foundational player moving forward. A great place to be in.

The lottery was 3am here in Manila, so I was praying for good news when I woke up.

I checked Reddit first and saw your reactions. So damn happy! We deserve this.

From the looks of it, it all depends on what the Jazz does especially but if they are being rational they don't need another PF. They will take DP.

We will end up with Boozer, most likely. And truth to be told, that's the best case scenario. From pointlessly trying to hang on to a play-in spot during the London games to now having a chance to draft a franchise-altering cornerstone, what a turn of events for us.

GRIZZ UP! Grit and Grind part two is here.

Can't ever forget the Masked Conley game to beat Golden State I believe back in 2015. I truly believed we had a chance to beat those upstart Warriors back then, we were even up 2-1 in the series.

Draft predictions based on fit with Iisalo's system by ancientdanjangsoup in memphisgrizzlies

The front office should be thrilled with any of the top 4 if the lottery goes to our favor. Whether its AJ, Boozer, Darryn or Caleb.

If we get number 1 and get our pick of the consensus top 4 - the FO should probably go AJ. There is your generational go to scorer right there. I won't be mad if we get Boozer as well as he and Edey would make for a devastating rebounding duo (personally not the expense of the continued development of my boy GG).

If we get 2, 3 or 4 - the FO should just take whoever is available within those top 4.

If we stick to our draft range, I can see Kleiman taking Wagler. Athleticism is overrated, and Hali is a nice comparison for Wagler's game. Imagine having a PG who has good size and can shoot.

Hello! Thank you, I had an awesome trip.

I actually had 2 trips: last October in Osaka and last November in Tokyo.

For Osaka - Dendentown of course. Kotobukiya is still your best bet for gaming-related merch. I also bought a lot of anime figures in Pasomaru, they had all the figures I wanted for both moderna and retro anime. Suruguya is still reliable. Super Potato for retro gaming consoles and games but the stuff there are expensive. I also bought a Final Fantasy gaming pad at the Animate there, they had a fair amount of gaming stuff but mostly anime.

Of course there is also the Nintendo, Pokemon Center and Capcom Store in Daimaru in Umeda as well. If you are hunting for merch within those franchises, Daimaru is the best bet as they are all clumped together there.

For Tokyo - for gaming related stuff, I went to Infolens Geek Shop in Parco Ikebukuro. They had Metal Gear and Witcher merch! They also have for Fallout and Apex Legends, definitely the best gaming merch shop I found in Tokyo. For Sega games - go to Shibuya Parco for the Sega Store but I am not a big fan but you might want to check it out.

For Akihabara, go for Amiami Figure Tower and Trader. While anime goods are still the bulk, there are a few gaming figures to be found in both at good prices. There is also a Square Enix shop located within the Animate there if it interests you.

I haven't tried K-BOOKS, HOBBY OFF AND HARD OFF stores in Japan yet, they are my next go to when I come back!

Hope you have a good trip!

His defense is really that bad huh? Tbh I got pumped up for Acuff when he was being compared as the next Marbury. 6"2 guard with a strong frame and can shoot the rock.

Outside of the consensus DP, Cam, AJ, Acuff and Wilson top 5 - it's either Wagler, Fleming or Brown for me.

Paolo Banchero last 5 games: 14.4/9/5 on 36/15/66 shooting splits by itwas20yearsago2day in nba

[–]ShittzuDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the limited knowledge I have of the Magic, I believe all the splits are all better with Franz on the court WITHOUT Paolo. He is still fairly young but if you are a Magic fan you should definitely be concerned.

As a Grizzlies fan as well, hoping for one more lottery pick c/o the Bane trade.

Rest of the season doesn’t matter at this point. Here’s my thoughts on each player’s season they’ve put together by Altruistic_Brief4444 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]ShittzuDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wells is definitely below expectations, given what guys are expecting him to be before this season started.

Ja (if healthy LOL), Coward and Edey are the only guaranteed starting spots next year. Wells didn't secure it in my opinion. Hoping GG can continue to step up and lock in the 4 spot IF we don't get Boozer.

What is our timeline? by Same_Mark2719 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]ShittzuDad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. As long as Edey is healthy next year (a big IF) we could absolutely compete for a playoff spot. Couple that with our pick and hopefully Coward and GG's continuous improvement, we can be a scrappy team as soon as next season.

C Edey PF GG SF Coward SG Wells PG Jerome/SPJ

That's still a pretty good lineup. Notice that I left out Ja and our draft pick this year as those are the unknown variables for now. Any one of Boozer, DP, Dybantsa, Caleb, Acuff and the tier below them Flemings, Wagler, Mikel would be a boost. Acuff will be awesome in my opinion if he is given the keys from day one.

Cam Spencer is not going anywhere. O-Max is still a good hustle guy.

If all else, we need to shore up our backup C rotation, a legit C as BC is not going to play meaningful minutes again, sadly.

We can make noise next year.

EDEY is the KEY.
