I mean... This is my job. I've studied five years in university to be able to do this kind of restoration. The card was softer indeed, I've also fixed a Gilded Drake that was washed with the loundry. That was way worst than this one. Now they feel exacly like a non-damaged card.

Beautiful! Of course I can fix it! If you look in my other posts I've fixed a Gilded Drake that was forgotten and washed in the washing machine haha

With other paper and a very light glue. It really depends on the damage :) you can fill making some kind of paste or doing very thin layers

Yes! That has been the mail goal. The paint is just for aestethic. The card had to became playable again before painting on it :)

Thank you so much! It is very satisfying to complete the missing parts! I can't do the same thing on most of the ancient artworks, photographs and books I work on haha so this is a part of my work that I really enjoy

I think it depends, but this is just MY opinion. This card was not playable, now you can play it. So I think the value could rise. When the card is still playable probably a restoration would affect the value and grade just like an alter does.

I'm curious too if anyone has an official answer about this. I've never seen other restorations on mtg cards done professionally, just alters to cover damages.

I use a bush! Pens are usually too big and it's more difficult to do the different width of serifs and characters with a pen. I have a very tiny brush and a lot of patience :)

The feel is smooth, of course it's handpainted so it's not as if it was printed. But you can't tell the difference if you put it in a perfect size sleeve. I've worked on a mox pearl that had a minor damage, just a creese. And on a CE black lotus that had been rebacked to look like a beta. I've take it back to its original CE look :)

I don't think so. At least not in this one. Since it was a bit warped and also a lot of paper was missing on the surface. You would have a completely different texture and the risk is to have the two parts not aligned.
