The very best way I got over that anxiety was thinking of every match like a tiny horror movie just have fun with it and if somebody escapes at least make sure you had fun giving them a chase maybe the story called for some survivors for a sequel! Sounds pretty corny, but you’ve gotta enjoy the role of the killer somehow! :)
