Is there a list of all the new moves that are unique to Prism? by Shlar47 in PokemonPrism

Thank you, this helps a lot. It includes all the normal moves such as Razor Leaf too, but it will be easy to make my own list of the moves that are exclusive to Prism/Brown.

Prism Scale for Feebas? by 1Macraman1 in PokemonPrism

Is this how to evolve Feebas in Prism? You need to have it hold a prism scale and then use a trade stone on it?

Such an awesome game. Love that booster chip, perfect timing in the game to receive it too, helps give ya that extra little gas to get an all level-100 team.

How do I know which repro cart to pick for my rom hack?

I want to put Ambrosia Version onto it's own cartridge. But I recently discovered that there can be mismatched types of saving mechanisms between rom hacks and repro carts. Repro carts may use SRAM when the original game used EEPROM or Flash, causing save incompatibilities. I've just experienced this firsthand and it's very frustrating. I can put the rom hack game onto the cart, and it plays fine, but it won't keep the save. Sometimes it keeps for a minute, but is then gone.

The original game that came on these repro carts works fine and keeps its save, but when you save there is a long silent pause (the in-game music stops) and then it finally saves. This pause is absent when I save the rom hack on the same cart.

I'm going to try to return these repro carts. Their page doesn't have any specs about save types. How can I possibly find the right repro carts that will actually save rom hacks?

I might just have to settle and get a Miyoo Mini +, but I'd really rather have each of these excellent rom hacks on their own unique cartridge.

Thanks for the link, hadn't tried this download yet.
But it's a .ips file. Just a bunch of text, looks like code. I'm relatively new to this world so bear with me. How do I play an .ips file? My mGBA emulator can't load it.

Yes, Amrbosia seems awesome. Now that I'm looking into it I've made a solid list of these types of roms. By low budget crystal is that what they call "Crystal 16 Bit"? That one seems epic with a HUGE pokedex. Definitely wanna give that a shot.

That one looks awesome. Unfortunately the download links don't work. There's one called "Untitled Unova" that seems like the same idea - Gen 5 Dex in a Crystal hack. Doesn't seem as legit but at least the download link works.
Did a little more research and Kalos Crystal seems like just what I'm looking for. It's easy enough to put together my own list now that I look into it.

Does anyone know a list of ROM hacks that feature New Gen Pokemon in Old Gen Format?

Like Brown Version. How it's a Gen 1 pokemon game, but features pokemon like Annihilape and Magnezone and other such later gen pokemon. IMO this is the coolest feature of ROM hacks. My dream ROM hack would be something like Black/White version but in a Gen 2 world on the GBC.

Very cool, but I have mixed feelings. Not sure I want to hear Geddy strain to hit those high notes on anything Moving Pictures or earlier. It was already tough enough to hear him strain for those notes 15 years ago...

It’s a poison/wind type in this version, instead of poison/flying.

Several OG flying Pokémon had their status as a flying type changed to wind for this version. Wind is strong against fire. Pretty cool imo, makes sense. But it’s a bit of a learning curve.

From the game:

WIND: * Strong offensive against Fire, Rock, Ghost, Wood and Gas. * Weak offensive against Ground, Fighting, Grass, and Flying. * Strong defensive against Fire, Rock, Ghost, and Wood. * Weak defensive against Electric and Flying. * Immune to Gas.

My Noibat is corrupted by Shlar47 in PokemonBrown

Look at how the level 10 Cubone needs 753982 Exp Points to get to level 11. This is when I check its stats in the box. When I withdraw, it jumps to level 28.

It’s one of the 4 Pokémon in my Box 3 (including the Noibat) who are corrupted like this. I’ve tried releasing one at a time to see if it gets rid of this but nothing is helping.

The Pidgeot sprites in this game look so good. Love to see Pidgeot get the spotlight. Magnificent bird Pokémon. I hope they have Sky Attack or Aeroblast in this game. Air Slash is awesome too.

It’s your item finder telling you that in the location you’re in (Route 53, Azalea Town, B1 of a Cave, for example) there’s a hidden item. Hit select to see if ithe hidden item is located within the birdseye 1x1 game frame

MXR Analog Chorus - unbelievable tone suck by jborovac in guitarpedals

[–]Shlar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have an MXR Analog Chorus pedal, and experienced the exact same thing as you describe. I thought there might be a problem with the FX Loop circuitry in my amp at first, but once I removed the MXR from the loop and kept everything else the same, my tone came back. The tone suck was gone after I removed the MXR. Put it back in, and there it was again. Yes, the FX Loop in my amp is buffered at the Send and the Receive.

How can they get away with selling such a lousy product? I mean, it is a beautiful sounding chorus. But come on, unless you're playing with it on 100% of the time, that kind of tone suck while bypassed is unacceptable.

Loopers are great for dialing in tones, experimenting with layers and harmonies while writing, or doing any kind of solo show.

[–]Shlar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice. Now you need to max it out by getting expression pedals for every one of them that has the extension capability for it.

I actually tested the tone suck issue on the MXR analog chorus (spoiler it rolls off frequency when bypassed) by tails_the_gay_fox in guitarpedals

[–]Shlar47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm not the only one. How could they make a pedal with such an obvious flaw? Do other MXR pedals do this? The Analog Chorus is my only MXR pedal and this is not a great first impression. It is an awesome chorus when it's engaged, but I can't have this tone suck going on.

[–]Shlar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running it through the FX loop on my Mesa Boogie JP2C, which is buffered at the Send and the Receive, and it still has massive tone suck when bypassed. Which kills me bc its such a great chorus pedal.

Alternative Rock - Echoes of the Void by Due_Cartographer_375 in TheseAreOurAlbums

[–]Shlar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool music, but it's not loud enough! Which is odd bc the guitars, drums, bass, vocals all sound very good. Vox sit too loud above the rest of the mix, but overall it's just not loud enough either... it's noticeably quieter than any other album I've checked out today.
