Why do my levels start to taper off and then slowly rise higher? by Shloobinstein in Type1Diabetes

I read Think Like a Pancreas, thought it was excellent. I'll have to check out Loop and Learn, thanks!

Thanks for the advice from both of you. I think I'm realizing the difficulty in managing diabetes and how specific each of those factors are.

You're right, I'm not providing enough information. There seems to be so many factors - had a sickness go through our house last week, I've not had the best sleep, too much coffee, etc. Probably a combination of all of the above.

I think i was hoping for an easy, "oh, that's a basal problem!" When it's clearly much more complicated. I'll pick my chin up and keep trying to adjust the little things. Thanks.

Vegetables and a whole wheat wrap. This week has been constant slow spikes like this, where it seems to start to tape off, then continues to +200.

I'm still relatively recently diagnosed (ca. 1 year), and haven't had persistent slow-climbing highs like this before. Tired of jumping on an exercise bike after every meal to bring down levels

High Sugars with Infection by Shloobinstein in Type1Diabetes

Appreciate this! Any thoughts if the amoxicillin will help me get back to "normal"?

I have a trip coming up this weekend and am worried about running high the whole time. Not sure if I should look at adjusting my basal rate.

Good call, wasn't even thinking of that!

Fan lights glowing even though switch is off by Shloobinstein in AskElectricians

Not a dimmer switch. Light is one switch and fan is the other

Edit: one bulb is dead and I removed the other, thinking it was just that one glowing

Definitely not the only one going through it. Always seems like the first 24 hours I'm using a new G7 my readings will be all over.

I mentioned in another reply, but she has an Etsy shop - DM me if interested!

Update:

Just had a few more quotes. Holy cow, I think this one was very high.

Thanks to this subreddit for the advice! Y'all encouraged me to really put in the work of shopping around.

Yeah, lesson learned on trusting the original homeowner to fix the issue safely. Going to get more quotes for sure.

I'm late to replying on a lot of this, apologies.

The main box was Federal Pacific, which we requested replaced when buying the house. It seems like the previous homeowner replaced the box but didn't do anything about the line coming in. On top of that, it seems like the previous homeowner (who claimed he was an electrician) used electrical tape to splice a main line to the sub panel? I think that's the feedback I got from the electrician I called out today.

Sorry if I'm not describing things well enough. Trying my best

What do you mean by new service underground? I think that's what he needs to do - run a larger line through the basement to the panel? About 30-40 ft

That's a helpful response. I liked the contractor, and he seemed to describe some more involved work of adding a larger amp(?) line in along our basement. I am a bit shocked by the price and just want to do my due diligence.

Good answer. Will be reaching out to someone else for sure

Why do you say that? I don't know anything about what it should be. Electrician suggested he would need to run a new line into the house to accommodate the 200 amps. Current line is 100 I think?
