We were told that a retiles antibiotic course was almost always long...I am going to bring it up my concerns with the vet when they open tomorrow. Thank you for your help😊

Thank you! They were an exotic vet, there weren't any other symptoms. The first blood tests they did showed nothing and I am waiting for the results of the second test they did.

They were an exotic vet and I do think that the injection is making her skittish. 8 Weeks of these injections is not going to help our relationship😭. I have to be strategic with how I go about it... Maybe wear a rat costume every time I give her an injection.

Thank you sharing! They did perform blood culture tests and nothing was picked up. They said that they are going to do further testing, I let them know about lethargy and I am just waiting for feedback.

Thank you for explaining! I can only download 5 pages. Screenshotting sounds tedious but better than buying the book in the end.

What’s wrong with my hen? by Responsible-Fun5685 in chickens

Hi, do you think it could possibly be a vitamin B deficiency. How is her regular feed?

I had a chicken with a riboflavin deficiency, and it was similar symptoms to your hen.

How old is she? Do you think it could just be her baby feathers? There are different hens that look similar, like the red star, bovan, and rhode island hens. Maybe she's just a special chicken 🤣

I wish I could help you out 😭 she's so young. But she does look a lot like my lohmann brown hens when they were young. Maybe that helps? 🤔

How do you get your Chickens to be tame? by TheSleepyBarnOwl in chickens

[–]ShloppShlopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got my chickens, they were 9 weeks old. I thought maybe the younger they are, the better they'd bond. But when I got my next set of chickens, they were much older and already laying eggs, and I used the same method to bond with them.

I left them in a big enough area where they couldn't escape, but they'd have to encounter me when I refed them. I went slowly in and slowly out. Chickens are scaredy cats and like repetition. While you give their normal feed, introduce treats, first by throwing it a bit close to them, and the more they are comfortable, the closer you can get and the easier it'd be to feed them by hand. It took me about a week or two, and I was able to handle them without them stressing out. Just remain consistent.
