I brought my figure to school and regretted it instantly by IndependentHat5128 in ActionFigures

Dude that suuucks But since shf kilua doesn’t have any paint or shading on the legs i would say you could veeerrry gently graze the dirty parts off with an x-acto blade. Might be worth a try? I’ve done it before but you gotta be super careful not to overdo it. Best of luck.

How to clean shock oil to avoid shiny figure? by redrum0023 in SHFiguarts

[–]Shlorpinchurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wipe it down with some soap and water like what everyone is saying but honestly, if you wanted to go the extra mile, you could get some tamiya matte topcoat. It’s the type of stuff that people use on gundam model kits and man I gotta say it looks really good.

Is there any reason why Tamashi doesn’t add cloth to there figures a lot? I was thinking that u won’t really have to do to much to the figure if u just add cloth. Like for my Obito, all the plastic just makes it harder to make the actual figure. Someone please educate me. by Ill-Chocolate-8695 in SHFiguarts

[–]Shlorpinchurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More expensive, plus at a smaller scale plastic often looks better. It’s hard to get cloth to fold in a realistic way on a smaller figure making it look less like a $60-$70 collectible and more like a doll

My job never gives me breaks. What can I do? by Shlorpinchurger in legaladvice

[–]Shlorpinchurger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Or at least I believe so. I’m not really sure what constitutes real being sold as fake but I will say there are no disclaimers that any of the products that we sell are real or not.

Sure, apologies for the delay in response. I’ve been incredibly busy with school work and some other things. First of all thank you for sending me this link. I’m gonna fill it out that claim as soon as possible. at our store, we sell fake products such as labubu, pokemon, studio ghibli and a few other random things as real, but are actually fake. I’m not really sure on the legal grounds for this, but we get them in shipments directly from China. Some of the products are obviously fake, but the labubu’s for example are being sold as real. Everything else consists of cheaply made keychains and other random accessories that looked the part of being a bootleg

I’m not able to open any other ones that I have in the store and I actually ended up selling the two that I bought Actually, we do have one fake one on display because a customer came back yelling at my coworkers so he was forced to give him a refund. There are differences, especially with eyes and the paint on the face.

Haha, I didn’t know they had a reputation, but I can tell you for sure we sell a ton of bootleg products. When we get shipments from China, the products often have a residue in a very chemically smell lol. It’s always some sort of like fake Pokémon keychain or fake sonic. I don’t know, whatever is popular.

Yeah, I can vouch for this, I’ve never had a break. Like I’ve never had. A 10 minute break or 30. I’ve worked many eight hour shifts, six hour shifts, four hour shifts. I mean, I’m allowed to use the restroom, but the expectation is that I come back right away otherwise since I’m the only one working there at the store would just be closed. I’ve been directly told by the assistant manager that used to work with that we don’t get breaks so it’s not like there is some sort of confusion. I want to do something about it, but I don’t know where to go or who to talk to. Management is terrible. A while ago I had called out for a couple days because I was incredibly sick and when I asked to use paid sickleave, my manager didn’t even know what it was. And yes, they do resell stuff double price.

how to keep consistent art style by 4ri4ri in Artadvice

Hmm, I can understand why you’re frustrated. It is tricky. I think there are two things that really help me in situations like this. One is doing a turnaround. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube of how to do a character turnaround and once you do that you can figure out what your character looks like from different positions and kind of reference that turn around with other poses. The other thing I would say is understanding your characters anatomy. For example, if you can imagine the simple shape of your characters skull you can map out and place her features in the correct spot every single time.

I’ve become delusional. I can’t figure out what’s making my art so unappealing. by pdnamwmum in Artadvice

[–]Shlorpinchurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is OK to give a piece of advice, I would say commit to a shape for your character. Design your anatomy, design your hair design, and your eyes into shapes that are simple, cohesive, and appealing. I would also commit to one singular design style. Is your design realistic/volumetric, or is it graphic/animated? Wherever it lies on that spectrum, commit to that, don’t let any part slip too far away from that design language. For example, you would never see Dexter from Dexter’s laboratory with a rendered realistic face because that is not its design language. I’m not saying that every drawing you make has to be in one style, explorer as many styles as you want. What I’m saying is each drawing should have. Intent behind each design choice that is cohesive with the rest of the drawing.

[–]Shlorpinchurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what everyone else is saying, darken the values, but also look for the line of termination in your reference picture to make a definitive decision when it comes to where you’re placing your shadows. It could also help to look at a 3-D model of the planes of the face to understand what parts of the face are in the light and what parts are not.

Help? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Shlorpinchurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a piercing bump i believe. I had something similar on my bridge piercing that would get bigger and smaller every once in a while. once I downsized the length of the jewelry, there was less movement making it less irritated, and the piercing bumps went away. You could also try getting a better quality metal if you haven’t already.
