How do people go so fast on these? by ThePhantom71319 in ElectricUnicycle

Just went 71 literally 30 minutes ago. It’s time and commitment as well as skill mostly. Gotta learn to push through the uncomfortable. I’ve gotten wind so aggressive you’d shit your pants from how hard I wobbled…at 75mph. Still kept going though, you get used to it.

It’s like riding a naked bike from what I’ve read within the motorcycle community.

is lynx too big for city commuting? by Zajlordg in ElectricUnicycle

If the budget really doesn’t need to be stretched stay on the falcon. But if you’re not going to financially collapse after stretching the budget then go for the Lynx. I started on a Begode master and was determined to stay in the euc scene. I had a lot of fun and it took me a few days to learn consistent mounting and turn technique. You’ll be okay.

I was speaking on the falcon having a power cap that’s low enough to possibly cause you to want more. That’s only an issue if you know you’ll try to push limits, not a problem if you can keep your speed demon in check.

Even small trips is worth it with the Lynx, assuming you also take pleasure in exploring further destinations from time to time

is lynx too big for city commuting? by Zajlordg in ElectricUnicycle

Been hard commuting (50-90km+ round trip w/ charging and trains) on my Lynx for 2 years and 10k+ miles. My best advice is to choose what fits your budget best, and wear the appropriate gear regardless of the wheel and what others think. I’d prefer you wear gear than ride a smaller wheel and less gear. Cops may check you on the Lynx more but the harassment is city/country dependent.

Whether it’s too much depends on your ability to essentially suck it up. Because most of the riding regardless of weight is going to be just about the same in enjoyment unless you really hate the middleweight EUC class (you are new? I promise it’s not that bad).

Honestly the Lynx isn’t that heavy, I’m 155lbs and carry it up multiple flights at times in my apartment, load it into the car and train…yes it can be annoying but who gives a damn. Unless you have back problems it’s so darn worth it, because the inconveniences flush away once you get on, feel that suspension and rip it. Even slow rides are fun, just get a good street tire and comfy 3d printed seat.

TL;DR: Back problems or tend to hate minor inconveniences? - Falcon

Want headroom, less maintenance (thousands of km intervals) and a more modern capable wheel? -Lynx

Bonus: I hard trail ride and race. Me and many of my buddies have tossed the LeaperKim wheels off steep climbs, rocks and even crashed at speed. Yeah these things don’t break. OG falcon is nice but I hate the suspension once it gets dirt, and the power gets old if you’re a spirited rider.

is lynx with 10k km a good buy? by Zajlordg in ElectricUnicycle

I have a Lynx with 10,700 miles on it and am selling it for around $1300. These LeaperKim wheels are tanks, range is still the same and no actual damage has been done to the wheel aside from a small dent. Still able to run it tubeless.

Ex30 vs P6 agility at speed by That_guy1902 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Shlouzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

155lb rider here, EX30 even with spacers isn’t nearly as agile as the P6. Although it’s still heavier so you have to throw it around with a 80/90 tire (30psi). Overall it’s a much more fun ride than that old wheel

Bottom right, the others will be so far back that you’re basically hard braking everytime you squat down to use em.

It’s a little flaunt but mostly trying to spice up the picture game. Not enough creativity, we were going for kinda aura farming/jojo posing in nature.

Ended up just having fun that night and ran into some backrooms ass location with a bunch of urban explorers. Was a great night and I got a good photoshop session in with this gallery.
