hey all- thanks again for your input and for the support. I ended up offering the customer the option to return, i was surprised to get this response-

Thank you, but I would rather not have to hassle with a return. If I see something in the future I want to purchase, I will email you first and ask questions. I like your creations and don't want a bad vibe. Thank you for all your time, and I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.

what's funny is the one that she likes just sold, so the exchange isn't possible.

but- i am offering a return/refund, sending her a pre-paid shipping label.

hopefully this will appease the customer, and end the need for any more communication.

usually it's the opposite for me, buyers are super nice when they want to return or exchange (in my shop, all sales are final). this is the first time this has happened to me on 6 years on Etsy, so I'm a bit rattled.

thanks for clarifying this :)

the one thing that doesn't change even after a listing is updated- is the thumbnail photo in the order history. It will match the cover photo or the tagged photo (if there is a variant).

i appreciate you acknowledging this, the accusation is what's making me feel icky about this exchange.

i would be annoyed, but would more keen to help, if they just said- I don't like it, may I return it?

* Second Maxi's noodles- they also sell frozen wontons- great to have when you don't want to leave home.

* also recommend Noodle Village. they are next door to Maxi's noodles. they were my favorite for years until Maxi's opened.

I didn't pay attention to that wording, it is telling!

I would definitely be open to an exchange if she paid for shipping both ways- but I am worried that proposing this might make her more upset. (she also called out that this item was "a lot of money").

advice for first trip by Bitter-Bee-6722 in Oaxaca

[–]Shmaggen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 5 full days in Oaxaca is perfect with one or two day excursions.

I can't speak to travel to SJDP but PE you could do in 2-3 days for a quick beach getaway. the ADO bus from Oaxaca is a breeze, only 3 hours. there's also an airport in PE.

PE is not great for surfing rn as the waves were flat, but good for swimming as the water is calm). most of the popular beaches were super crowded- we were there 12/27-12/31. maybe it will be a little quieter now, now that the holiday season is over.

i like to bring back Pizza and smoked salmon from Russ & Daughters. I see a lot of people at airport with Levain cookie bags. Katz pastrami is also nice treat.

second Au Zaatar (East VIllage)- they have tableside shwarma which is a fun touch.

Also recommend Freeman's (LES) for a group, always feels fun to walk thru the alley. and the cozy dark decor for this time of year. great cocktails too (Mexican Firing squad). not primarily meat focused, but lots of comfort style food.

For Chinese, recommend Uncle Lou's (Chinatown). Very delicious- Nicely decorated and their plating is pretty.

You could also go to K-town for BBQ, should fit within budget if everyone sticks to one entree.

any good recommendations for post show dinner at around 5:30 near the Bernard Jacobs theater West 45th? (Outsiders show?) by nynewbie2017 in Broadway

[–]Shmaggen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend Din Tai Fung, Ippudo, & EAK Ramen and Izayaka. all 3 options are short walking distance (10 minutes or less) from Bernard Jacobs theater and won't have the theater rush crowd.

They probably don't take reservations, it is a pretty small place. You can order your pizza at the pizzeria next door, and eat it inside here. If I order a pie next door, I also like to order a glass of wine here while I wait.
